I had a spare Gung-Ho body that I was wondering what to do with. I considered making a Quick Kick custom, but Hasbro announced that QK would be on the roster soon. So, I decided on Major Barrage instead. He is far from an iconic character, but I'm pretty happy with the way he turned out. Let me know what you think.

Recipe:
Body: 25th Gung-Ho
Head: 25th Duke
Gun: Maurauder John (What would we do without him :-D )

Thanks for looking,

OB

hate to say it brother, but you gotta ditch the tat -- and that means painted chest & other fleshtones. also, you should probably paint the vest to match the pants, or at least the dtc barrage --

but, awesome f'n job on the head, especially for a character that was only released dtc!!

Your work looks pretty solid...like JM70, I'd echo ditching the GH tat and repainting his zombie caujin skintone. I guess if you'd have to repaint the body...might as well go with a Roadblock body too.

I think I'd have gone for a Major Barrage head

Not trying to knock your custom...but why? Frankly your custom seems to me to be a step down from the DTC Barrage...I guess I could buy the making a custom for the sake of making the custom...but if you don't have the Barrage, you could easily get a MOC barrage for the cost of 2 DTC figs.

EDIT... oh yeah...that Mauler looks kick ass in Green...once again...it's a shame The Collectors Club "LASER BLAST" the bed on the Con Maulers this year.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'll pick up an extra Roadblock and go that route for the torso. That way the flesh tones will match up better once everything is painted.

Also, what color is MB's vest? I used the picture from Smalljoes as a reference and it looks greyish beige.

I kinda like the idea of getting more obscure Joes made up in 25th style (Hasbro, if you are reading this please ignore and keep making all the classic 82-87 Joes first!). It is doubtful Hasbro will get around to them soon, if at all.

Just use nail polish remover for the Tatoo, I did it on mine and it worked perfectly without having to match that funky skin tone color. Use a toothbrush to remove it though cause its hard to get inbetween the pecs. Done use a nail polish remover with acetone though cause it will melt the plastic.

Try a very sharp X-Acto blade and scrap gently, that's how I got the tat off for my Monkeywrench figure.

Yeah, this isn't bad, it just doesn't look finished. The skin tones definately need to me matched up. If I were making this, I'd also fill in the weird-ass abdominal muscle grooves with some putty and make some cloth-fold ripples - which is no doubt why the RB torso was mentioned. Frankly, I'd keep it but do another head swap to make it your own character as the DTC Barrage is fine as is.

I used my dremel to get rid of the tattoo but the skin tones need to match and he's not big enough for barrage, here's a pic of my barrage if you don't mind.
