#48 Alley Viper

1989 gave us the first version of the Alley Vipers, which were modified and re-released many times in many colors schemes. Here I've stuck close to the original action figure with a few alterations. I never liked when Hasbro would duplicate the one of the camouflage colors on the webgear. So here the webgear is its own shade of blue. But the lower legs are now covered by pant legs (instead of tall boots) to get back some uniform to put the camouflage on. The highly stylized shield of the action figure looks great, but it's not practical. It's reworked to be much closer to a real world riot shield.

The recolors are based on other versions of the character, even though those versions didn't use the same body as the first. The B version is based on the second ARAH figure. The C version is based on the sixth ARAH figure. The D version is based on the fourth ARAH figure.

I do miss either of the more ornate shields, but you're right that neither is practical. I do like the solid colored vest/when gear, good observation.

as a kid the orange was striking and instant favorite. of all the versions you made here the D coloration really stands out to me now. looks like a euro/Russian type police gear. maybe even a swat type officer who is geared up for light crowd control.
