"I don't appreciate having my decisions questioned. I am the head of the CSA, and while I do officially report to you, the status of CSA agents is my responsibility alone. Yes, Agent Pythona was a capable assassin and infiltrator. More than capable, in fact. And while I feel that someone with her education, background, and skill set could have been a valuable addition to our team, he arrogance and lack of respect for authority made her a loose cannon. She was a thorn in my side from the first day I took charge of the CSA. She constantly questioned my orders and frequently remarked that she was a more skilled agent than anyone on our team, including myself. I am sorry if she feels that she was unfairly passed over for promotion within the organization, but the simple fact is that, while she may have been more technically skilled than some of our other agents, she lacked the discipline and obedience necessary to succeed in the CSA. Her dismissal came after a direct violation of my orders during the mission to eliminate one of Destro's top generals. While the mission was still a success, I cannot allow such insubordination within my ranks. I expect you to respect my decision, and that this will be the last time this issue is brought up."

"Anyone else would have been shot. Publicly. One of our own agents infiltrating Serpentor's Citadel Prime, bypassing our security measures, injuring and even killing several guards...it's an embarrassment! She infiltrated all the way into the throne room, took out several members of the Royal Guard, incapacitated Crusher with a nerve toxin that left him paralyzed for almost a week, and threatened the life of the Emperor himself! But instead of being infuriated and having her executed on the spot, Serpentor was
impressed! Instead, he executed the guards who had failed to stop her! He's since appointed her the head of the Cobra La, the Emperor's personal assassins and infiltrators. While her infiltration of the Citadel alone proves that she is a capable agent, I fear that Serpentor's judgment on this issues may be clouded. For while our great Emperor claims that his interest in Pythona is purely professional, her constant presence by his side indicates otherwise."

"Victim was found in his office by cleaning staff around 1700 hours. Both the office and the victim's body exhibit signs of a very brief struggle. Victim's body is covered in a large number of lacerations, presumably from the double-pronged blade found pinning the victim to the southwest wall of his office. Victim's throat has also been slashed.
[NOTE FROM SENTINEL CHIEF SHOCKWAVE: Due to the high profile nature of this killing, the murder of Director Night Vulture will be handled by Cobra La, by order of the Emperor himself. All evidence shall be turned over to Intendant Pythona immediately.]

Pythona is one of my favorite characters. While everyone else was drooling over Baroness and Scarlett, I was always a Pythona fanboy. I knew I wanted to include her in Reign of the Serpent, but I didn't want to get Cobra La involved in its traditional sense. So I made Cobra La the equivalent of the Emperor's Hands in the Star Wars universe, and Pythona his chief assassin. I tried to give her a regal look, to match Serpentor's, while including homages to the original character (...although she came out looking a bit more Psylocke-esque than I wanted). I didn't paint her pupils, because I wanted to give her a vaguely ethereal look, too.
