I’m pretty sure I’m the only fanboy who’s actually made a custom of this uber-obscure character. And to be honest, I’m pretty proud of it.

In 2000, the original HISS tank was recolored in blue and its pack-in figure used the ’83 HISS Driver mold but it was actually named individual called Rip-It (and unless people read the filecard that fact nor his hobby that explains the name would make sense). I like the character because he had a lot of story potential, he was a new guy for Cobra’s ranks, and y’all know I’m all about fringe/forgettable characters anyway.

I figure the guy’s probably a superb driver with fast instinct, mechanical know-how, and a confrontational attitude, with aggressive driving tendencies. Freddie Booth the 3rd grew up in Massachusetts where cold and snow is existence for 8 months out of the year some years. Dad owned and operated Booth Plow Co and would have loved to pass it onto his son someday but instead the kid was born bad and the neighborhood theorized carreer criminal was what he was gunning for… Raced monster trucks professionally before years before Cobra hired him while golf was just a hobby. Now he’s proud Cobra pays him to do both.

Cobra Island needs a real golf course ASAP:

Cool story flow. What helmet is that ?
And is he knee-capping that viper or is he playing golf ? I thought he was sledging his knee, but then wasn't sure later on.

Looks like a Star Wars pilot's helmet. I have that one, it came with the figure whose head I used for my Stakeout custom.

thanks, folks, glad ya like him! the customs started out as me trying to revive Rip-It from the bowels of forgotten limbo by separating him from standard HISS drivers and I wound up modding a HISS and making the golf club just to bring his filecard to life too.

Poet, yeah, he's playing golf. That's the first time I've ever tried a dio shot with any sport plays in it, setting it up so it look like he'd just yelled "fore!" and swung was more difficult than I'd expected. :shifty: the Vipers are there to support his game but in that shot, the one of watching how are the ball flies, the other ricking getting capped in the knee by lampooning Rip-It's shot. the second picture with the Viper on the ground is him looking at the where the ball should gone and telling RI what he needs to do to get it in the neighborhood of the hole.

Millsy, the head is the 2002 Heavy Duty's with the 'stache and the 'burns sculpted on to give it some personality. as for the helmet, yeah, that's Arvel Crynd's pilot gear. I loved that it looked like a racing helmet. feel free to steal this if ya want to, that's awesome!

Hey, Rip-It! I used to use him as the commander of my HISS drivers! Nice work on him.
