Well, I can take another two off of my WIP spot on my work table... FINALLY

I started this as a sort of team project that sort of dissolved last summer, and he's just been standing around on my table ever since. All he needed was some pants paint, and tonight, he got it:

Stalker:


I really liked this guy once I got the parts put together. I find that I like the Stalker character quite a lot, and this is the second custom I've done of him. I wanted it to be sort of simplistic, nothing too flashy, and I think this gets the job done pretty good.

Open letter to the Crystal Army:

We want more Crystal Army customs! If we do not get more Crystal Army customs, we will be forced to make our own! Give us more Crystal Army customs, jerk face1!!!

Having said that... I give you MY latest addition to the Crystal Army - Crystal Nova (aka... Sweaty Balls)

The Evil behind the Evil Genius of the Crystal Army, Crystal Nova has continuously provided resources and funding to the Crystal Army. Some would even say that he is the driving force behind the whole endeavor, as Crystal Ball himself never demonstrated the ambition or ability to spearhead such an ambitious project.




This was a pretty fun custom to do, only because of the subterfuge involved in it's construction. The idea was hatched as I was taking spare crap parts out of Nova's throw away pile. I saw the Slaughter's Marauders Mutt head and tought "Hmmmmm....." Then, I had to take steps TWICE to hide the WIP when Nova came over, lest he try to appropriate the Crystal Ball parts for himself, as he is wont to do. Then there was the excitement of discovering a new technique in getting that belly design onto the Gung Ho torso. Having succeeded here has opened a few doors for me in other areas of customizing, including something I'm working on for the group project...

So anyway... I've been having some fun

Basically a variation on this method

I pressed it into Green Stuff (rather than using a 2 part epoxy) to copy the wierdness and the little lacies at the bottom of the collar fur. The shoulder dealies and the fur collar are all me.

It worked quite well. And to any of you who have never trolled the ffurg for tips - shame on you. They have some real buried treasure over there.

Stalker looks alright...pretty clean simple custom...but you've again gone and used a head that I can't say really looks like the character you're trying to represent...I'm sorry...all I see in that figure is Eddy Winslow from Family Matters.

I like that push molding technique...I might have somthing that would work even better for you. It might even help you get the torso application to line up strait with the body.
