I've had this custom sitting around for awhile. I considered entering it in the current NJC, but from what I understand, that's only for new customs. So here it is anyway. I've always liked The Rocketeer, in fact, other than the Shadow, he's my favorite pulp-style hero. As soon as I saw the 25th CG, I knew I had to make one. The helmet was the hardest part...that's a Storm Shadow head under all the milliput. The fin was the worst. I finally just threw a big hunk of milliput on there, let it dry, and *then* set about sculpting it. Even then, it still broke and had to be glued back on.

Now I just need to buy some Indy Nazis for him to fight.

Rocketeer
Head: 25th Storm Shadow (Heavily modified)
Torso/Waist: 25th CG
Thighs: 25th Storm Shadow
Lower legs: 25th CG
Arms: 25th CG
Jetpack: Tips of two Rolling Thunder rockets w/ lots of milliput.
Gun: Indy German biker

I like it. The CG body really works for that character quite well. I might have done a little dry brushing on the leather to make it look worn, but that is really nit picky on my part.

That's another home run from you, D. Spot on look, and fantastic mods.

Consider this borrowed.

I too love the Rocketeer and find him to be a highly underrated character. This is fabulous and will be incorporated into my early Joeverse.

Very nicely done Darko. That CG torso really lends itself to the Rocketeer. Great job sculpting the helmet.

that is awesome! nice work on the head!

btw, it would've worked for the current njc... ... :shifty:

about the only thing i'd do differently is put 'flares' or 'puffs' on the thighs...

great job!

Darko, I love this figure. My only critique would be to maybe give the pants another coat, the crimson shows though a little in spots. Otherwise spot on.

The fact that you sculpted the helmet and most of the back pack make this custom more awesome than awesome.

This custom is fantastic and you did a bang up job sculpting the helmet. My only critique are the boots. They seem a little high for my tastes but other than that you nailed it.

i like the work on the rocket pack a lot, and the upper body looks pretty spot on. now if you could find a duke-red star comic pack.... ;)
