FINAL RACE This Time, it's INTERGALACTIC PLANETARY AROUND THE GALAXY IN TWO WEEKS Today we find our racers in the desert, with the Great Pyramids of Egypt as a backdrop! There ahead, 500 yards down the sand track, stands a STAR GATE ... a portal to the unknown, but somewhere OFF PLANET ... Before going through the portal SHADOW BLADE hits hard into SUICIDE TANK and THUNDERKISS as a reminder of their ongoing fued. Menawhile new comer to the scene, GRIM GOBLIN has edged makes their way to the middle of the pack. AVE back in the saddle after a brief stint behind the scenes is out to reclaim his championship status and so far he is proving himself worthy. As they pass through the Stargate, they are greeted with a projection as they jump through space. The Racers exit the Stargate RIGHT INTO AN ASTEROID FIELD!!!! STINRAY and IRON GRIFFIN immediately crash into each other as they attempt to evade a large asteroid barrelling right for them. The rest of the pack is able to adpat ot avoid, but WAIT, two asteroids collide together and the POLICE JETBIKE isn't able to get out of the left ones way. SUPER COP is setnt flying from his bike and into SILVERSTREAK and while his bike smashes off of D.E.S.T.R.O.K. CALIGULA is able to use the confusion and his afterburner to jump ahead a few spots. Unfortunately that last collision disturbed a swarm of...something. Whatever it is, they are following the pack hot on the heels of the RahJet bringing up the rear. These large leathery winged creatures do have sharp piercing teeth, but they are electrivores, prefering power sources, batteries, nacelle couplings, drives, and solid fuel. They go right for the SHOWSTOPPACHOPPA, but AVE does a flywheel barrel roll and they end up latching onto the SCRAPJET instead. Quarrel slapped one away right into Captain Spaulding’s face on the SUICIDE TANK and he's trying to wrestle it off. Super Cop was going full throttle on the POLICE RAMJET to make up for lost ground and now has two stuck on him like something really, really sticky. Ion Pulse diverted all power to active sonar which allowed him to cruise BLACK NOVA right on through and jump ahead a few spots in the process. That swarm is really nipping at their heels now. SWARM BLANKET The swarm has started to overtake the back of the pack. The POLICE RAMJET, already losing power from the mynoks, now have space bugs clogging up his intakes. Apparently seeing that was enough motivation for the SHADOW BLADE, JACKKNIFE, and RAHJET to punch it to let the swarm overtake SUICIDE TANK and DESTROK. That sudden surge from the back of the pack got the racers’ attention and everybody is in a herd mentality jockeying towards the front. Lots of sparks flying as they shuffle positions. Magenta Primates The path through the next beacon takes the racers through the atmosphere of a nearby planet. The initial swarm burn up upon entry and the bulk of the swarm peels off giving the racers a momentary reprieve. Before our racers can gather their wits they are barraged by shaft like spears being hurled from the mountainous ridge tops by what can only be described as hairless purple apes with more teeth than face. The alien metal is dense enough to penetrate shielding and metal plating alike. One stabs Lugg the Obliterator in his leg, momentarily slowing FIREBREATHER down, until he rips it out and rams it joust style into one of the SHADOW CYCLE’s wings. The rest of the racers start weaving and dodging. Just as the ape things start zeroing in on the stragglers, the POLICE RAMJET backfires out a cloud of burned up swarm dust. This effectively gives the rear of the pack enough cover to reach the beacon unscathed. Shadow Wing and Shadow Cycle want to slow down and fall back to get back aligned with Shadow Blade. They are stronger together. If any of them have a chance of winning they need to stick together and Shadow blade has not been able to catch up on his own.

Scylla and Charibdus Leaving the planet’s atmoshpere, the next Stargate portal is visible. Unfortunately, next to it on the right is a swirling gravity well that is throwing off all sensors. As the the racers approach they are greeted by the swarm coming out from behind the Stargate to their left. The swarm combines into a giant kitten mecha, with each limb having its own kitty head. HELLRACER and SHOWSTOPPACHOPPA try to gun it down the middle and are thwarted by the kittens who make them veer off. THE GREY GHOST leads a pack of racers into the Stargate by going closer towards the gravity well. As SHADOW CYCLE and SHADOW WING start trying to coordinate a manuever to regroup with SHADOW BLADE, FIREBREATHER decides to hit two birds with one bike and bumps into SHADOW CYCLE who in turn bumps into the RAMELEON SWAMP JETTER, missing SHADOW WING entirely. The FIREBREATHER, SHADOW CYCLE, and the RAMELEON strain with full engines to leave the gravity well, but are quickly swallowed. The swarm pushes the remaining racers closer and closer to the gravity well. THUNDERKISS and CALIGULA are surrounded by the swarm. As the remaining racers go through the Stargate, the now powerless racers and jet bikes are tossed aside like trash. Their momentum carries them helplessly into the gravity well. Inaction Fleet The Stargate teleports the racers to some sort of space battle graveyard. Whatever they must have been fighting over, there was much death and destruction. Chunks of metal debris and frozen carcausses along with massive ship remnants surround the racers in every direction. Those racers with scanner arrays get an early advantage pushing forward and navigating quickly through the field. Attachment: Graves.jpg [ 1.17 MIB \| Viewed 51117 times ] DRAGULA takes a sharp left and appears to be stopping by one of the hulls of battle cruiser. Is he waiting for Capt Spauling on the SUICIDE TANK? While other racers divert around an incoming medical frigate, IRON GRIFFIN revs up and takes a short cut through the inner frame of the ghost ship. The GRIM GOBLIN doesn’t seem to be moving out of the way of anything. They are taking a direct course straight through the field. The SAS HORNET is using them as some sort of blockade runner and following closely behind. This might be the first time where JACKNIFE’s can opener front end has come in handy, as he slices his way through oncoming obstacles. The RAHJET, using the battering ram, tries to make a move around slower racers and runs face first into the unused ordinace being hauled off of a Big Papa’s Salvage hauler by DRAGULA and SUICIDE TANK. Looks like TEAM SUPERBEAST got their hands on a teraton warhead...now with embedded skull fragments and brain mush from the SPHINX Commando. Please avert your eyes as we show you multiple 720 degree angle replays. On the outside edge of space battle graveyard, the next beacon lies somewhere within a celestial cloud spread out in front of the racers. Analysis of the purple haze shows the mist is highly acidic. That won’t be a problem for our racers wearing self-contained rebreather head gear, but for anyone else this isn’t the time for conserving fuel. Attachment: purple.jpg [ 358.96 KiB \| Viewed 51048 times ] As the riders approach the beacon, the haze has started churning into a thunderstorm. The racers can see the other edge of haze when it beings purple haze turns to purple acid rain. The drops begin to sear and sizzle on any surface they hit. The SHOWSTOPPACHOPPA with its large wingspan takes the brunt of the initial downpour. The GYREJET and SCRAPJET take hits to their stabilizers. The GOLDEN IDOL and The DARK HORSE have their thrusters go offline and have to reboot their systems. Luckily for them [and their save rolls], they are able to get things back online to follow the rest of the pack through the beacon and out of the cloud. Off in the distance is a bright light can be seen. Is it a star? A ship? Scanners indicate the next Stargate is indeed in that direction. But something in the air…as if the wind was- crying.
