Finally got the chance to get to a TRU and found some interesting things. -2x Kung Zhu Rhino Tanks for $2 each. I grabbed them because I thought I could use the machine guns for something, but after seeing what the tank body looks like, I'm thinking it could be used for a new *head* section for a bigger Armor Bot. -2x single card MIB3 Boris figures on clearance for $5 each. Hope to find a suitable 25th style body to put one of the heads on. I think I need to make the eyes look like sunglasses. Might use the second one for my Monkeywrench WIP. -MIB3 Mr. Wu. Brainstorming for some sort of Cobra-La type character using the base and the torso/head for something else. -3x RoC Rip Attack Tiger Snake and 1x RoC Jet Storm Cycle for $5 each. Two of the Cobra ones will be modded into Dreadnok vehicles. I saw someone else do that and kicked myself for not grabbing them at TJ Maxx when they were on sale. -2x Animal Planet sets Buy One, Get One 40% off. Grabbed the hovercraft one and the pink dolphin one. Like the headsculpts. Went to Wal-Mart and found a MU Guardians set marked down, and two more smoke detectors for my apartment. My year old one started chirping every minutes, even with new batteries. Got my GIJOE comics from the comic book store and sent some packages out too. Found a store called 'Five Below' and picked up a Vintage Zam Wesell and a Mad Max Thunderdome DVD for $5 each. Saw firsthand some of the newer Soldier Force head sculpts and would love to get them, but I don't need the big sets/vehicles right now. |

Tuesday Morning also has vintage carded Star Wars. I saw Endor Han at mine. |

I'll revive this thread rather than starting a new one... I blew some money today! My wife and myself. Between us both we had what most kids would call Christmas! I found at Target the 3 pack set from Star Wars with the Night Sister, Darth Maul, and his brother. That was not a set could pass up. They were putting out Halloween and I saw a Target exclusive Halloween Batman. It's got a pumpkin shaped blister pack. The figure is done up with orange highlights and looks more like a Tron Batman than anything. It's sort of neat and I had to get it. I looked at the Halo Mega Bloks stuff knowing there are items there I want but I'm trying to back off. It was fun when there wasn't too much but now it's such an overload of things I just gotta draw the line. BUT then I find KISS K'Nex figures. I couldn't pass it up. I'm a KISS fan, so yeah. They're neat to me. It has a little stage with a cardboard backdrop. All the members of the band with little guitars and a drum set. Then I go to Toys R Us... That where my wife found 2 new Monster High dolls. The steampunk girl and another one based on a a Venus Flytrap. The steampunk girl looks cool though I think, but she likes this line. I make it to the Star Wars section and there's the Ewok multipack. I was going to originally pass on it, but I liked what I saw. I was thinking that would be all I'd find, but then there's the new Speeder bike. I wanted 2 but I had to pass and just get 1. They had also just put out some restock of GIJoe and there was a new HISS. I really want to make that Septic Tank idea, so I grabbed it. I almost got a Crimson HISS to use, but I like the new HISS actually better for this idea. The added parts and yes, the non moving tread was a big factor. So after my card developed a smoking habit, I finally make it out of the stores. Lots of cool stuff but too much all at once! |
