Winner of the GI Joe Club 25th Anniversary custom contest has been announced. Honestly I'm pleased this one was the winner. Very cool and congratulations!!!

I think the winning figure deserved to win. I voted for it on the first go around. It's too bad that it will still be surrounded in controversary because of the club's inability to manage the contest well. There was confusion at the beginning as to what kind of figure was allowed in the contest. Then they made up rules as they went when they claimed the votes were padded by people signing up for new accounts so they eliminated 3 figures outright. Terrible.

I voted for Red Laser.

I don't think much of the winner. I really hope this contest is never done again by these guys. They are serious cretins.

Stalker body and some kit-bashed accessories, right?

Was part of the criteria for the contest that it needed to be a design Hasbro could easily replicate?

you know hasbro can't fit that many oversized accessories in those tiny plastic bubbles... :whistling:

Did SWARM get DQ'd or something? Not to take away from this figure, but I'm shocked by its win.

I *did* think it was a little fishy when there was that announcement that voting got extended due to "overwhelming response" or some BS like that.

BIG congrats. That is a hell of a nice looking figure. Now if Hasbro can only produce one like him.

No offense to the creator of that figure, but something is definately up here.

No way more people voted for a Stalker loaded down with BBI accessories than Red Laser or SWARM.

blah...too much gear, I hate too much gear. The figures paint apps is good but I wouldn't say this would be the best in the contest but I didn't pay much attention to it.

Yeah, I really don't want to come off sounding like a jerk, because that Ripcord is definitely better than anything I could ever make, but that SWARM Viper was a piece of art. Hell, it had a damn LED in it. I almost wonder if they just didn't want a non-Joe character to win.

Well I voted for this one. Red Laser was just a repaint and SWARM didn't feel like a GI Joe figure to me. Nice craftsmanship, sure, but it felt like it belonged to another line. I can see others using the same logic, and I can definitely see this winning.
