I recently got a complete Detonator. There is a slight problem, though.

The bellows is shredded. http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/93/detona ... ons1.shtml

Any suggestions on sealing it back up? I doubt it would be easy to find a replacement unless anyone has an idea for something else that would work. Thanks in advance.

Hot melt glue doesn't work by the way.

No clue on how to fix something that badly damaged...you might try salvaging the bellows off of one of those little hand pumps used for inflating camp mattresses and things. Or maybe one of those hotwheels sets from back when that had the little air pump used to shoot the cars across the floor. I forget what they were called.

It will probably take a couple of things. I'd check tire repair stuff. You might have to weld the plastic together with a soldering iron and then reinforce all of that with some trusty duct tape. Even then it will never be anywhere near as good as a replacement one. It might work for one blast and then not re-gain its form to fire another without popping it back up maually. (OK that just sounds wrong). The good thing is that since this one is pretty much junk you can try out a bunch of different methods to see what works wihtout any real fear of breaking it.

Yeah, melting it might work.

I doubt I have anything like that, but it would probably be easier finding one of those than finding someone selling a replacement from the detonator. Man, I wants to fire those SWEET Nerf missiles.

what about that silicone stuff you put on windows to help seal it, I'd think that would keep a seal and be "rubbery" enough to still bend, but I don't know how long it'd hold up with you pounding on it attacking your Joes with nerf missiles :rotfl:

Surprisingly Rubber cement Holds well...
We have a few items like this in the fire service, once we used two sided tape and a latex glove to get a temp seal, it worked for about three days after that, then we bought a new one

Also, i do believe the Ghostbuster Trap used something like this , maybe a retrofit would work

I suggest forgetting the bellows and using a bicylce pump instead. You should be able to score an old one at a thrift store for a couple bucks.

Cut the hose and slip it over the Detonator's air intake (You may have to do some rigging there) and you should have something that will launch those missiles.
