Here's a question -- those of you whose Targets never saw them, how many checkout lanes do you have? I'm trying to recall, but the Woodlands Target may have had them for a week or two on the endcap, but they only have maybe nine checkout endcaps? The Spring Super-Target at I45 and Louetta has super-wally-world-style checkouts -- 40 or 50 of them. That's where I saw the vehicles for an extended period of time.
So, it might be that Targets get say, merchandise for 20 endcaps. If that Target has fewer endcaps, then they need to pick and choose which items see the light of day.
Here's something to blow that theory out of the water. There's both types of Targets in my area. A Super Target with however many (the full front of the store is checkout lanes) and a regular Target with like 20 lanes. Both Target stores got them in stock and only a single stock for each.
The Super Target actually only had 1 of the SHARCs and 1 AWE Striker with no HISS packs. I grabbed those. Now remeber the Hasbro rep was there and had just put these out so she confirmed that was all there was. She didn't understand why there wasn't more.
The regular Target had 2 of each and had them on the endcap at the registers just like all the other Targets are suppose to. This was the following week and the rep even told me that she wouldn't be able to visit their store until the following week. I didn't see her, so who knows when exactly they were stocked.
I was visiting both Target stores regularly, as in at least once a week. Neither have received a restock since then. So the Super Target got a half assed stock and the regular Target got a fairly decent stock, but none of it was enough to really matter. Also these have not shown up on their website at all. I was just at both Targets too during the week and didn't see any. Both Targets do have the new Rancor. Another thing to note, at Christmas, those Target exclusive Star Wars sets were only at the Super Target and not the regular Target.
