Augggh! $14 at Wal-Mart! Thankfully found the whole wave at once and only wanted Bludd, but because Cobra Commander had a new helmet stripe and the ruby crystals of Burma (thanks for that tidbit, Sunbow) I had to shell out for him.

Do you think the actual ruby crystals would be cheaper?

That's the same Cobra Commander that was in the TRU 3-pack. Right down to the helmet stripe.

Actually, no it's not. Yes the helmet stripe is the same, but the 3-Pack COBRA Commander has much lighter strap colors (gray/white rather than black), and his COBRA logo is bigger and in a different spot.

He's actually more cartoon accurate than the Wave 4 version... :shifty:

Let's not bring Paid's 'Saturday nights down at the docks' into this, please.

Hasbro's gonna need to *seriously* get their "LASER BLAST" together in regards to the various choices they've made on these figs if they intend to keep selling them at these prices. I'm not hatin'; but if I'm gonna be paying prices for an 18th scale fig that just two years ago I was paying for an ML figure, I'm really gonna need my figs to not have pinheads and 'Jazz hands'. I passed on 3 Vipers a couple days ago because it's simply not worth the price because of all the ways it's less than it should be.

The crystals for the MASS device were radioactive and came from a cave in the Arctic. I don't think their true nature was stated. The "ruby crystals of Burma" reference comes from the first Transformers mini-series, where Megatron was after them to convert them to energon cubes. :-)

Really? I didn't know that. Now I have to get both :rant: And also that carded JUMP Duke which I thought would be the same as the TRU Duke :verymad:

Oooh, I got nerd schooled, old style. Actually, I am filled with shame. Clearly I must rewatch the miniseries. Yes, that's what I'll tell my wife. I HAVE to watch it again. :)

Ha ha, yea while fussing about Dukes and Snake Eyes I find myself going darn I've got to get that Cobra Commander even though he's only slightly different than the one's I already have and because he's got something to offer Megatron since we have to mix the toy lines ourselves.

While the price is getting kind of crazy, I mean the Iron Monger sells for $9.99 with all that plastic but Joes are around $7. At least we have a wave where I'm saving a bit by having so many figures in the wave I can just pass on.

I just went to Toys R Us and talked myself out of getting that Commander 3-pack on Gen. Hawk recommendation. Also talked myself out of getting Red Ninjas/Night Force/Greenshirt 3-pack/Crimson 3-pack.

I don't know, though, man - that triangle belt buckle is sweet. But I have Red Crystals on the way! Hasbro!!!! Weak...
