Have you ever looked at the code name on a figure and just cringed, wondering what exactly they were thinking when they named the figure that? I have.
So, what in your opinion, are the worst code names ever?
I got to say that Snow Job is right up there, I can't look at that guy without laughing, I think the worst code name ever is Skidmark, poor guy. When I first got the Desert Fox, I thought they called him Skidmark cause he drove fast, but now I wonder if he wasn't the butt of ever Joe's joke. Maybe you should do your laundry at home next time, Skidmark.

On the flipside, what is the all time coolest most baddass codename ever? I think of Flint, Falcon, Beachhead, but I gotta say, although i have a love hate relationship with the owner of the name, Snake Eyes is the best codename.

Skidmark is bad, but I love the figure. One of my favorite molds, really ruined by name and color scheme.

Colonel Courage is pretty bad

Col Courage is a tricky one. Was his name meant to be ironic? Like Ooh, there he is behind his desk with his tie and nice polished boots.... Hey everybody... salute Col. "Courage".

I think that's what was implied by his file card:

Apparently "STALKER" is the all time worst. We have a different mental impression of the name today than in 1982. It's bad enough that he's been dropped from the movie and replaced by Marlon Wayans as RIPCORD.

I always thought it was kinda stupid that the DUDE was named Mutt.

what bothered me about OUTBACK wasnt just the odd code name (is he Austrailian?) but the fat that he looked like some wierd drifter,.. like he had a dead body in that big backpack.

I think the drifter look is because he spends so much time living in the wilderness. When we first meet him in the comic he had spent weeks living off the land after the survival equipment he was assigned to evaluate failed.

Ice Cream Soldier is pretty bad. I hated it when it came out. I also dislike most code names that are more than two syllables, unless it's an ego maniac super-villain like "Doctor Mindbender." Duke, Hawk, Ace, Flint, Mutt are all pretty cool.

Robo Joe, I love him, but what kind of codename is that.

I actually hated BATS for a long time since I kept thinking of Batman instead of Battle Android trooper.

But I think the absolute worst code name has to be : "The Enemy"

Big Brawler...the name isn't right.
Snow Job...you sure he can be trusted?
Skidmark...Who checked his pants?
Headman...I won't go there
Hotseat....mmmmm

The question I always had: are codenames give or are codenames chosen?

Funny story: when my cousin and I (both huge GI Joe fans back in the day) first saw Ice Cream Soldier one or both of us thought it was Ice Cream Slaughter.

Anyway, worst codename? Not sure.

Best? Mutt is good, it fits the character presented and is a little ironic. Snake Eyes is good, but I always liked Storm Shadow.

Name Your Own Cobra was pretty weak.
