Code Names dominated the 80's from GI Joe, to A-Team, Mask, etc. And ironically everyone from Dino-Riders to A-Team had a "Viper". So what's your favorite code names in the GI Joe mythos?

Snake Eyes, Breaker, and Rock and Roll are still classic names that resonate with me.

Back in the day when I had the Joes wrestling in their off time two guys stood out to me and ended up being favorites because of their codenames, Hit n Run and Shockwave. Because of their names they seemed to compliment each other for missions. One using stelath tactics and evasiveness to attack, the other overpowering and raining down fire on the enemy.

One more, the B.A.T., or Battle Android Trooper. I remember as a kid just being awed by how cool a name that was. Of course at the time the best I could do was Cool Kid and Girly.

Cobra Commander!!!!

The commander of Cobra... is Cobra Commander! Thanks for clearing that up.

I like it when Duke calls him the Cobra Commander at the end of the MASS Device.

The imagery of 'Storm Shadow' is very farking cool, especially for a ninja. A storm coming half a mile away, the wind whipping gusts around you, yet a stillness everywhere as people seek shelter and the animals disappear; then great grey and black clouds cut across the sun and plunge you into twilight.

Yeah, that's a great one.

As goofy as the character is I have to say Raptor is one of my favorite codenames along with Rock 'n' Roll and Hawk.

Self explanatory names rock. Not like Kamakura. I always was partial to Barbecue but thats because am a fire fighter and a fat kid.

I wish Bombstrike was Bombshell. That name I would have liked

I like Crossfire because it sounds cool and you can easily infer what the guy's speciality is.

Stepping out of the GI Joe realm, I like "Face" - not sure why, but it has potential.

On the Cobra side, gotta love "Destro" since it sounds like "Destroy" and is Italian for "right hand man" - funny note, Larry Hama had no idea the word had Italian origins. he just thought "Destroy", hmm....*erase*, "Destro" yeah, that sounds cool.

My pet peeve is long code names. No one wants to get shot while they're trying to spout out your long code name to call for help.
