Today marks the 4th Anniversary of the death of Gary 'Goggles' Head, known here on JC as Gyre-Viper.
Whether you had the privilege of knowing him personally or not, all of JC owes Goggles a head nod.
Gary went to bat for our site many times. He didn't understand at first what we did or why, but not only eventually came around, he participated in customizing events at conventions (at least once) and always made our table feel at home at every convention we were together at. He applauded and appreciated what JoeCustoms was about and our place in the hobby as a whole.
I personally scoffed him at first (standee at RI con,) then thought he was a tool (2nd Assembly Required,) and then got to know him and recognize his passions, pursuits, and legitimacy.
I considered him a friend.
I miss him very much.
