I'm looking at the green uniform and it just doesn't look like one that would be standard issued to these Zombie-Vipers. No, "Sorry about the transformation, oh, here is your new uniform..." It has to be something specific troops were wearing prior to been exposed and transformed into a Zombie-Viper. I highly doubt it would be a generic uniform the Cobra Coroners or someone from mortuary affairs would dress the deceased in. So it begs the question, what would they be doing prior to conversion to Zombie-Vipers? Would they be a different level of Lab Rats? Another version of the Toxo-Viper or Toxo-Zombie? Has anyone made a custom of a pre-Zombie-Viper? |

"So what uniform do we want to use on all these poor SOBs who failed the physical that we are gonna trick into being zombie experiments?" "Remember when the uniform factory erroneously sent us green instead of blue? What did we do with those?" |

I always figured they were handlers for Cobra's zombie experiments before being turned themselves. I didn't read the filecard, but I always figured it was something like "Cobra makes chemical to create unstoppable zombie soldiers, but since they are Cobra, the experiment goes terribly wrong almost instantly." |

Maybe the Compound Z gas or whatever affects fabric? I agree though, putting ripped uniforms on zombies seems like a waste of time, even if they are also strapping suicide vests onto them. |

Dressing a zombie doesn't make sense, no. Putting your prisoners/test subjects into fatigues prior to exposure to Compound Z makes more sense. I like the idea that it's a cobra prisoner/captive jump suit. |

I could see a color change for any "volunteers" to the program. Last thing you want is someone who just got injected sneaking back out with the rest of the blueshirts.

I can totally see that being the reason for a distinctive uniform so everyone else knows can see that color and know to give them space to avoid them. |

I just chucked it up to artistic license and figured that Hasbro thought the green would look better with the zombie flesh tone. However, it would have been cool if the ZV's were recognizable as having been fill-in-the-blank vipers first. |

My guess is they were officially Dang-Fool-Idiot-Vipers first. "Compound Z? Oh, that's just our new cleaning formula. Perfectly safe." "Thank you for volunteering for our new bio-medical testing program. You'll be given a series of vitamins and energy drinks to try. Entirely harmless." "Congratulations! Your intelligence test indicates that you're perfect for our new bio-weapon sciences division." "How would you like to be part of our new program to help you lose weight and completely change your appetite?" Aaand so on... |

The uniform color reminds me of medical scrubs. So I think the idea of them being in some kind of test subject specific uniform works for me. |

all I know is I remember when they came out I personally wished they had just been in standard blue cobra grunt uniforms. |

After going through some fodder figures, I have an idea for the Zombie-Vipers. Since I don't use this figure as Firefly, and was probably leaning towards a Motorcycle Trooper, this might make a decent starting point. Attachment: Attachment: ZV.jpg [ 55.82 KiB | Viewed 1420 times ] |

The main one I saw, Marcus had done a custom of. Dark Horse isn't on here anymore, but still his custom is pretty nice. Worth looking at for an idea. http://www.fighting118th.com/2012/09/15 ... ark-horse/ |
