Since it has all but been confirmed that there is not going to be any new GI Joe products produced by Hasbro besides the Kindle winner and SDCC exclusive. What are your customizing and collecting plans for 2016/

My interest in GI Joe started to wane with the Valor vs Venom line and all but disappeared with the ME 25th Style. I know most love the new style figures but I really don't care for them. I hate the mid chest joint which really doesnt add much movement and hate that my figures always fall forward from the ankle articulation. I think Hasbro could have had the same level of detail and still added articulation where it is needed most which for me is the wrists.

Now the rumor floating out there is that Hasbro may be going to a 6" action figure. My question is if this does happen will you continue to collect the figures since it will be a totally new format or will your interest in Gi Joes continue to disappear like mine.

I decided Im better off staying with what I love which are O-Ring style Joes and make what I want. This includes commissioning new O-Ring style parts from Krexx. with the money I now save not buying the repainted crap that Hasbro puts out wave after wave.

I would have no use for a 6 inch line other than one or two favorite characters, but my interest in GI Joe wouldn't wane. I'm here no matter what HASBRO does going forward.

I've picked up WAY more 6" Star Wars figs than I ever expected to - and violated my own self-imposed limits over and over. I figured I'd get a couple (R2 and Chewie) and be done, next thing you know I've got Fett, Vader, multiple stormtroopers, Bespin Luke, Finn, Poe, Rey, Kylo, 1st Order troopers, etc.. etc... I'm kinda pissed about the whole thing - I try to stay away from that scale because it isn't practical for someone like me who prefers vehicles/playsets, etc.

Hell - I've got a ton of Sigma 6 figs in a bin when I only planned on getting Snake-Eyes w/Timber.

If Joes were made like the SW Black Figs or even MLs (which I have to assume they would be) I could see myself getting some core characters, but I wouldn't be a "gotta get 'em all" collector. Mainly because I don't want to drop $100 on a 6" scale VAMP or HISS or something like that. Although a 1:12 RAM cycle would be cool...

I feel the same way. I bought a lot of 25th style figures, but I didn't really enjoy them. Sold most of them off but kept all of the vehicles. As far as the future goes, there is still a lot of vintage stuff out there. I have most of what I really want, but a few I don't. I will focus on those. Past that, it will be a little Star Wars and a little Transformers. I've been really impressed with the Combiner Wars line. The Titans Return line looks to be just as good. That is likely where my money will go. Personally I'm hoping this dead spot will lead to the return of the o-ring in the future, even if it is a limited release.

I don't think I can bring myself to buy any 6". I'm far too invested in the 3.75" scale. It's too bad really, because the Joe figures were made with so much more care than just about anything else Hasbro was doing. (Especially when you consider price + articulation + accessories, they were quite a value).

Having already moved on from official Joe toys (hello Mega Bloks!) this lack of product doesn't bother me. I have zero interest in 6'' human figures so i wont be buying any of that product. If Hasbro releases a true 3.75 '' or smaller line with full articulation then i'll support it . Period.

The modern era figures don't have any magic to me. They aren't bad. They just don't have any magic . An updated o-ring design would have as i recall buying the ARAH Comic Packs ( ..loved that Stalker head sculpt) which were , at the time, updated ARAH designs

Outside of that i'll continue reading and buying the comics, embracing the mythos and checking out the custom work on the board.

There are some magical 1:18th lines out there ...

Feels like the 90's again.
No Joes in stores and I'm back into buying random miniatures.
Plus, I'm really into Playmobil.

I'm quite happy with my collection as it is. If new stuff comes out, I may get it, but new stuff not coming out doesn't bother me. I have the definitive version of most figures I want or the parts to make a custom version of the ones that don't exist. I definitely would not go to a 6" line, just because for what I like about GI Joe, that's simply too big. I love S6 and enjoy the collection I have of them, but they were all about the characters and not vehicles. A RAH-based line has to be as much about the vehicles and at 1:12, they'd be too big for my collecting style.

I've actually moved on to the MegaBlok scale of figures. They're great for customizing and there are tons of toy vehicles out there that mesh well with them, especially the Masterpiece Transformers (and Masterpiece-style third party offerings). I'm having a lot of fun recreating my favorite Joes in the MB style and having them interact with TFs. In fact, I just got TFC Detective (their version of Hound) the other day and he looks fantastic with MB figures in both bot and vehicle modes.

TFs and Joes have always been my two collection interests; anything else that I pick up is picked up to be worked in with one or the other of them. There's a lot of nice TF stuff coming out and, while Hasbro is not releasing anything new this year, we have awesome resources such as Marauder to get figures and parts from. As was said upthread, and is often said on a TF board I frequent, I'm a fan of the toys, not the company. I go for items that fit into my collecting style, regardless of if they're 'official' or third-party.

In fine with no product this year. My bank account needs a break after 2015. I bought a lot of Joe stuff.

If GI Joe went the way of nicely articulated 6 inch figures, I would probably start customizing them.

I will be very surprised if there is no new Joe product this year, and even more surprised if they released a 6'' line, especially since the source of those ''rumors'' has proven less than solid over the years. That said, if there is nothing, I have more than enough 4'' fodder to carry me into the next movie waves. I am a Joe customizer first and a collector a distant second, so my hobby would not be very impacted. I scratch my collecting itch with Masterpiece Transformers and those are being released at a regular (and accelerating) rate.

I remember when they made a fan's likeness into GI JOE (the Steel Brigade vs Plague set) that happened just as nu-sculpt era ended. So Fan's Choice follows suite?

If there were a 6" Black Series line for G.I. Joe, I'd be all over it, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen. It seems clear from Toy Fair that Hasbro is more interested in marketing their properties as media potentials than as toy lines. For that matter, if there were a 6" Black Series G.I. Joe line, it'd probably be based on one of the live-action movies, and there goes my interest.

What Suntzu said about the modern-style figures is how I feel about it. They're not bad figures. But they're not the Real American Hero, either. So my interest has been waning for some time. That said, I'm pleased that the Club is doing Pythona in ANY format, and I like the Inferno B.A.T. from FSS.

What am I customizing? Not much of anything at the moment. If I'm doing anything, it's touching up the handful of figures that I do buy.

What am I collecting? I am paying slight to moderate attention to the 6" Star Wars Black Series, Masters of the Universe Classics, ThunderCats Classics, and I wouldn't mind rounding up the Transformers Combiner Wars Combaticons. Throw in the very occasional super-hero and that's it. Got Yondu from the 4" Marvel Legends a little over a week ago. I'm good.

Yeah, the only "rumor" about 6" is about 3 guys' wishful thinking. It's just not happening.

Which is fine, I have no use for it. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the "Kindle" figure IS the SDCC exclusive.

I've had people ask me if I still consider myself an action figure collector, since I don't seem to have much interest in current product.

I will ALWAYS consider myself an action figure collector. I have a vast collection of Joes, a considerable collection of Masters and DC Classics, and significant representation from other lines and concepts, including Star Wars, Transformers, WWE, Marvel, and more.

Just because very little appeals to me these days -- or falls under the category of higher-end merchandise that is well outside of my budget -- doesn't mean that I don't consider myself a collector, or that I'm not grateful for and continue to enjoy my existing collection. I certainly do.
