I know most of the members here are doing the new style customs but was wondering how many would do O-Ring style customs if new parts were available to them. So for example would you build a Pythona, Wraith.Shadow Tracker. etc... if you had the chance to buy a sculpted torso or head. I enjoy looking at everyones customs on this page but my heart and love of this hobby will always be O-Ring. Just want to know how my fellow members feel about this subject.

joecustoms member Rambo has a dedicated o-ring site. there are many o-ring fans here too. I don't limit myself to any one type. I like to mix the generations of figures to make (hopefully) unique designs :)

what I want is more o-ring torso's with modern necks! I have used the major barrage and exclusive outback. I also have a newsculpt mutt that has that set up. if anyone knows that black major guy and could drop him a line, a source for cheap torso's of this kind would be sweet!

I belong to Rambos site but use the name Copperbob on his site since I wasnt able to use Dreadnokbob. Trying to see if their is still interest by customizers on all sites in new O-Ring sculpts if they were to become availiable;

Tim and the Twins (chad_matt) are also huge O-ring customizers still -- they're still out here, but they get harder and harder to come by -

2Dark, the man you want to talk to is nova. he's into doing fun and interesting stuff like that -

I've always and still prefer the O-Ring figures. I've done a couple of new style customs, and I've been extremely impressed by the work of others in this format, but the O-Ring figures will always be the best. And I DID make a Pythona. :D

But if someone were to make really great parts for an O-Ring Pythona? I'd be all over that. I'm delighted that the Club is making one, but -- I'd prefer O-Ring.

GI trekker and roguetger Ive been talking to Krexx who does a lot of sculpting work for Angelforge about doing some commission work for me Krexx stated anything is possible and for a reasonable rate. Krexx stated he did all the sculpting on Slayer Daves defunk Project ARAH and would have no problem redoing them including his O-Ring full body Pythona which I will admit Im seriously thinking of commissioning Krexx to reproduce. My question is if there was something you wanted to see made what would it be in O-Ring style. Im debating about a bulkier more accurate Horror Show, IMage Storm Shadow or Devils Due rendition of the Red Shadow troopers

Hmmm -- interesting question. If there was something I wanted to see made in O-Ring style...

Apart from Pythona, and in no preferential order:

Cool Breeze
Matt Trakker
White Clown
Soft Master
Swivel-Arms Glenda
Zanya
and just for something completely insane -- Wong.
(and as long as we're being nuts, the TV versions of Daina and Stormavik)

Gitrekker you will be happy to know I chose 5 options for a commission sculpt done my Krexx for a Head/torso/waist combo. 2 of the options are Cool Breeze and Zanya, Since Im paying the commission on winner I have the option to allow Krexx to cast the parts and sell the castings or just keep the commission parts for myself. Im thinking of sharing and allowing Krexx to sell the casted winning option to share with everyone. Im not making a penny on this even though the commission cost is being paid by me alone and Im not making anything on the sale of the casted parts. Im just trying to get a small group of serious O-Ring lovers togather who can contribute 20.00 every 2 months to have Krexx sculpt something totally original that Hasbro failed to make. If your on Facebook look at the OWN discussion site for pictures of the 5 choices I made for the members to vote on

I'll keep that in mind. Right now my budget is extremely tight, but it's cool to hear that such parts might be made at all! I hope it all works out, and I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

Though I'm slowly transitioning into modern style figures, I have to say it would be cool to see new O-Ring sculpts/takes on some of the figures that came out Post-O-Ring.
Like:
Heavy Water
Cobra C.L.A.W.S.
Scarlett from the 2002 era
Scarlett VvV era
Swamp Rat
Neo Viper
Sand Viper
ROC Wraith
Agent Helix

to name a few.

All excellent suggestions and more than a few are on my wants list. The sculptor stated that none of these would be much if a problem to do in O-Ring style. I recently quit smoking and my loving wife said I could use the money I save on new O-Ring sculpts which equals one head/torso/waist combo a month Guess I will be keeping the sculptor busy. Ill post the finished customs on Own and let you know so you can see this sculptors incredible work
