Hasbro seems to be back to their old shenanigans.
5 poa figures and each comes with piece of a huge build-a-weapon. Feels like the huge launchers from RoC.
Other figures seem to come with an Imaginext like outfit or vest that you can pop on.

Some of the currently available figures will be rereleased under the Episode VII banner with a new pop on accessory (Malibu Stacy has a new hat).

It's what I expected. However, the one pic of Finn I think has his head at an odd angle so maybe just maybe we will at least get a ball neck joint like on the AoU figures and these will be cheaper like the rebels were.

I have to be honest - I'm a little sad. None of this is getting me excited for either the toys or the movies. Either I'm getting old or just realizing I need to wIt for Kylo version 10, once they decide to make his "ultimate" version.

We need a poll of Hasbro's suckiest pack ins- commtech chips, freeze frames, those paper fold outs, these headdresses,........

I'm really hoping we get... whatever the hell this beastie is, in a well-articulated format. Maybe even a removable helmet/shroud/carapace so we can get it uncyborged.

I'll have to see the movie first and then go back and grab any character that stood out. Only the accessories will be useful for customs.

But knowing modern Hasbro, it will be made of 4 pieces, hollow on the bottom and insides of the legs. Have articulation only at the hips. Have highly visible screw holes down one whole side of the body. Have some stupid action attack feature and an enormous spring loaded launcher on it's head...

As Goldbug said, there is a spot on the Wally World planogram for E VII Black 3.75 figures.

Beyond that, all of these look cool. But, so far, no Jedi Master Luke, no Han, no Leia. :-/

The only thing I might use the 5POA figs for is cutting them into pieces for customs, hehe.

Another board posted pics of The Force Awakens Black series (fully articulated) 6" figures:

http://jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=16696

I'm a casual Star Wars collector, but I have to mention something that was said by another collector. There was a toy podcast a while back that pointed out how Hasbro is trying to herd collectors into the 6" figure scale. I discussed this on another board and got this response. It applies to Mavel Legends vs. Marvel Universe figures, but it applies to Star wars as well:

Quote:
...I just can't see anyone being foolish enough to think that a mass migration could be stirred directly, let alone indirectly and without any proof of that being their mission statement. I mean without anything actually being said to that affect, you havta base those assumption on the MU line as being made so unattractive anymore, that it is not only driving people away from it but also into the arms of the LEGENDS scaled format - which...personally, as much as I'd want to defend either line, I find both presumptuous and insulting to the 1/18 scale community.
I mean if this line is faltering in quality, which it seems to be (I don't feel like its ever had the presence that it could've had), then that doesn't mean that defeated fans are just going to go...'Oh well, I'll buy Legends then, I guess'. That's too much of a presumption, its insulting and only half of the outcome is likely to be true - the half where fans say...'!@#$ this', and just quit the line. That's it. They're not gonna all succumb to some to mass-delusion where they all give in and allow Hasbro some consolation prize of their continued consumer loyalty for something they don't really want. WTF is that? They're just gonna blow off the line they wanted and..it'll die. Happens all the time...

I agree and so do a lot of people. Most of my collection is 1/6 or 1/18 (12" or 4") so why buy items that don't fit in with the majority of my collection? I'm not suddenly going to start buying Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black because there's nothing else.

AdrienVeidt, that thing looks like a shaved bantha trying to wear the top of an AT-ST for a hat. Weird.

I saw a display at Walmart today for forthcoming Star Wars figures. They had a handful of existing 4" Black Series figure, including Clone Commanders Wolffe and Thorn, which I would very much like to have -- BUT NOT AT $12.35 APIECE!!!! (Your prices may vary, but sheesh!)

That ALONE will keep me away from Star Wars toys. They can keep their 5 POA junk, I refuse to pay that sort of price for any 4" figure -- unless its action feature is to go out and somehow earn enough money to pay for itself -- and while I DO LIKE the 6" Black Series line, if they see a similar hike in price tag, I'll consider myself fortunate to round up an Episode VII Stormtrooper (they can't just be a San Diego ComicCon exclusive) and leave it at that.

Hasbro may be trying to steer collectors away from the 4" format and into the 6", but with this sort of nonsense -- and I'm sure an equal share of the blame belongs to the retailers -- the only thing they're doing is steering me towards other things to spend my money on. Like, you know, food...

It's like millions of customizers cried out and we're suddenly silenced.

I miss the days of the Legacy and Clone Wars lines.
Figures were decently articulated and the choice of characters was varied.

Maybe it's about cutting costs or maybe they did research and kids actually like stiff figures...
