So for the fun of it:

Which figure had the best accessories? For me that means the accessories defined the figure.

Repeater's hip mounted gun was awesome and was exclusive to the figure. And without it Repeater himself was kind of bland. As a side note, the absence of the gun with the new releases has really hurt the appeal for me.

And Hydro-Viper all geared up was awesome. The demon of the deep looked mean and dangerous. Without his mask, fins, and scuba tank Hydro-Viper is just a sad eyed guy in fuchsia jammies.

For me I have to say getting Snow Job had the coolest stuff. I loved the ski set. It was like nothing else any other figures had at the time.

Snow Serpent was 100% more awesome because of his accessories. He was awesome on his own, but with all that amazing gear... Holy crap that was some amazing stuff.

I second Snow Serpent and Snow Job. Two of my other favorites as a kid were Sci-Fi and Airtight.

..this post makes me a bit melancholy. Dammit ARAH was awesome. What an amazing time in life thanks to those figures.

Anyway....

Hit and Run - for some reason that duffel bag with the grappling hook and green knife really did it for me .

Snow Serpent v2 ("rocket powered snow board " version) - The figure itself didn't do much for me alone but that snowboard....that ROCKET powered snowboard lol.

...and i just discovered the INCINERATORS came with a catapult. I didn't know that prior to tonight ( or at least the memory was lost to time)..

Heavy Duty v1. Say what you will about spring loaded accessories, that giant gun rig was ten kinds of awesome.

Bullhorn: the three piece rifle and case. *drops mic*

Mutt....although it feels wrong to just consider Junkyard an "accessory"

Yeah even though I never got him to hold the rifle in any way that looked okay, the fact that he had it was sweet.

Let's not forget the muzzle that was for Mutt, not Junkyard. Says a lot about the character with one tiny piece. And that baton and Uzi got used by many of my joes.

Storm Shadow V1. All his cool ninja gear could fit in his backpack leaving his hands free to climb or punch or choke unsuspecting enemies.

Some great ones already listed.
For some reason I always really liked Dial Tone's equipment too.

Along the same lines as Junkyard, I hate to merely consider him an accessory, but I think Max was my favorite animal pack-in.

Here are some stuff no squad left home without:

Footloose's slinged weapons - it may seem simple, but Grunt's M-16 was among my favorite rifles as a kid. When Footloose came along with a slinged version, that became my choice for the "hero" weapon.

Ripcord's HALO gear and rifle... what I wouldn't have given to army build this guy when he came out... I would have used his body to do head swaps with all my favorite Joes and had HALO Stalker, Duke, Snake Eyes, Grunt, Clutch, etc... alas, I never owned him and only got to play with a friends.

Roadblock's M2 Browning.. here's another one I didn't have but a friend did. This was a great weapon and essential for "room clearing." My parents had more money by 86, so I had gotten the 86 Roadblock, but was terribly disappointed that his weapon wasn't as cool. When the Tiger Force version of RB came out 2 years later, I was buying Joes with my own money from lawn mowing and painting, so I snatched him up right away. Didn't care for the figure, so for the next several years my go-to Roadblock was the 86 figure with the black "Ma Deuce" from the Tiger Force version.

This may seem weird, but I loved Tripwire's accessories. I don't know how many times I layed out the minefield when the Joes were dug in waiting on a Cobra attack.

While I did love Dial Tone's figure, I preferred Mainframe's character (due to his portrayal in the comics) and so I often gave Dial Tone's pack to Mainframe, which combined with another favorite, the laptop Mainframe came with. He became the ultimate Comm troop.

Scrap Iron's missiles... man those were cool.

Pretty much every accessory from the 85 lineup. That had to be the most well thought out line up of toys ever. From Snow Serpent who looked like he actually could survive in the Arctic and launch deadly attacks on Joes to Alpine who had everything he needed to scale mountains or living room furniture.
