I stumbled across some sniper weapons for Marvel Legends action figures...which look suspiciously like the GI Joe action figures. In fact, they are the same. However, the figures are 6 inches, a full 2 inches bigger than our guys.

Here's one:

I want that white SV-98, darn it! :-(

That white sniper rifle Punisher has is the exact same that Zartan, Blackout, the Night Viper etc are using.

The question is, is Hasbro just using the same weapons to give to these figures? Or, are they making bigger weapons with the exact same molds, just larger, for these six inch figures? Because I've seen some killer weapons I'd love to use for my Joes.

Say it ain't so, Joe!

looks bigger to me, but i'd like to see it with a modern joe. i suspect the joe versions of the draganov rifles are actually smaller than 1:18 scale because the 1:1 rifles are huge :)

I suspect that, too, but I know how Hasbro likes to kill two birds with one stone, if possible.

I understand that the Marvel figures are 2" bigger. But my thinking is---a full grown man, at 6" tall, would use a weapon in combat...but could teach a child how to use that same weapon. A youngster starting to shoot wouldn't be much more than 4 feet tall, and would use that same shotgun. So, while I'm relatively certain the gun is bigger, sadly, it's not a foregone conclusion. I just can't see them making all these guns all over for superhero figures when they don't need them, really.

It will be too bad, too, because these things are plentiful.

They are bigger. Hasbro just took the 3D sculpt files and upscaled them in the software. There's a number of weapons they did this with with that sniper rifle being one of them. That Punisher is boxed up right now, but the Shock Viper SMG (with some changes) was also used for Marvel Legends.

Not that different size-wise, but in hand . . .

Unfortunately, for everything but sci-fi type stuff, I find that 1:12 and 1:18 aren't really compatible.

Oh wow. That is quite different, lol. Hawk looks like Alice after falling down the rabbit hole, lol.

Thanks, HypnoHustler!
