In my Assembly Required write up I mentioned during the JoeDeclassified panel that they had shown art and mentioned that at one point Ronald Reagan was considered for the line. He would have been a deluxe figure like Zartan, only instead of coming with a chamleon he would have come with a desk and red phone. Well, they posted the art today courtesy of Troy aka Dream.

They during that same presentation they also mentioned a fun story about how dress blues Gung Ho didn't start off as Gung Ho. And in fact at least one version of the presentation art was ripped up by a VP.

He is pretty much the patron saint of GI Joe - his deregulation of children's television and advertising made the cartoon possible. Without that, the cartoon would have had to have had a lot more educational content, rather than shooting around things and jumping out of airplanes. Without the cartoons and ads, I couldn't imagine the 80's era Joes being anywhere near as popular.

Not sure if that's totally awesome, or if the Mother______ ruined my life...

I once made, and sold, a vintage cardback for "POTUS". Had the art of Reagan and everything too. I'd have to see if I still had any of those cardbacks on some old CD-Roms...

I'm sure there's an actual Reagan action figure out there, just need to get one of the caster types out there to size the head and pop it on Prof X's body and you're good.
