START SAVING and get a Vectis account.

Tons of GI Joe, Action Force and other International figures auctions just ended a few days ago on Vectis. More are on the way according to this article about Shane Watson selling his massive collection.

I met Shane Watson at several JoeCons quite a number of years ago. Really great guy, and extremely knowledgeable, as one would expect, about Action Force, etc. I'm stunned he's selling his collection, but those fortunate enough to secure any portion of it will be getting some awesome merchandise!

Love the article's reference to a "7 ft. battleship", by the way, and that's a great photo of the Defiant Shuttle Launch Complex, too.

Just looking at those first 100 lots is quite amazing. Funskool Vamp and Snake. Takara, Plastirama, Mexico Predacons, 40+ MOC Targats.

Wait...was this the same Shane Watson who used to bring Modern Action Man sets to the cons?

I believe he passed away last year. His son is handling the sale of his collection now.

Yes. It wasn't hard to spot his tables. You just looked for all the orange...

Oh, my. Somehow I hadn't heard this. That's very sad news. :-(

:-( I met Shane at the 2004 con and had a nice time talking to him. I remember he developed cancer in 2005 and I sent him a get well card. Sad to hear that he's gone.

Sad news. I met him at Norfolk (and even helped him get a lot of the Wave 1 new sculpt figures, including the BJ's sets). I remember him laughing when we looked at the AF figures he had, and I called the Muton figure Mutt-en :) That's where I learned it was Mute-on.

The club named a figure after him too:

He definitely deserved having that figure named after him. He was one of the really great INTERNATIONAL collectors in the hobby. Man, I'm still upset about his passing. I think several of my Action Force figures came from Shane.
