Karen Traviss on Joe has been a pipedream for me since I first read her Republic Commando novels, and I'm amazed it's happening. She has a firm grasp of charaterization, managing a large ensemble cast, pacing, and military action.

I love the premise of Cobra as a peacekeeping force on the outside and it's one that's been part of my personal Joe-verse for awhile. Given how poorly Joe comics sell, I don't expect this to last long but I expect to enjoy it immensely.

If the Joe comics don't sell well, maybe she should write a series of GIJoe novels.
I really enjoyed her Commando series and was very sad to see it canned in favor of what was going on in the cartoon.

Interesting. I had missed this thread earlier, but I really don't do comics anymore. But I really like Traviss and may give this a shot.
