I was out of town for a long holiday weekend at my folks cottage the last few days. The cottage is a good 4 hour drive from where I live. Since I have family in that part of the country, I have been visiting there pretty much my whole life. When I was a kid, we would drive down 3-4 times per year for the major holidays and summer vacation. Now, I'm happy to get there once a year, usually for a few days. Anyway, one of the places I usually make time to visit is a small toy store in the nearby town. Since it is off the beaten path, I usually find some older stuff there and I have found some pretty nice surprises over the years.
On Saturday, I walked into the store and went around the store. When I got to the small action figure aisle, I thought I was seeing things. There they were, sitting on the shelf, vintage Cobra Accessory Packs (1986) and Vehicle Weapons Packs (1987). I had to walk out of the aisle and walk back in to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. They were all marked down to 1$ each. I grabbed them all. I'm not sure what I'll do with them, aside from pegging a couple to my wall, but it was awesome to find 28 year old products on shelves.
The Vehicles Packs are beat up and the bubble is coming off the card in most places. The Accessory Packs are pretty much as mint as can be hoped for considering they were probably forgotten in the back store for almost three decades.
