Don't know if this is old news or not, but I was in a Walgreens today, and they had a G.I. Joe Micro Force pack on clearance for 99 cents. I hadn't really collected these before, but for that price, I figured I might as well get it, and I got a Cobra Trooper and Steel Brigade Trooper for my dollar.

Walgreens seem to be clearancing a number of toys and some other stuff at the moment, usually located in a rather chaotic pile of shelves on end caps near the back of the store. That's where I found this. I've been checking several Walgreens for G.I. Joe FIGURES, and coming up short for the most part, and this is the first time I've seen the Micro Force on clearance like this, but I wanted to pass along the news.

This set was both enjoyable and frustrating. I think my "collect them all" ocd prevented me from enjoying these the way I wanted to. I wanted to be able to walk into the store looking for figures and grab these cheap when there were not other options. But then I liked them and felt that I should make a set. Then they became what I was looking for. Once I was done, I found myself bored again in the toy aisle.

I wish they would put out the arms micron minicons this way. But I can't really think of Joes that I would just want to buy casually.

The stands are pretty cool on these microforce guys since they work for full figures. And I had thought about customizing a bunch of them, but there are other projects taking priority.

I'll tell you what's really frustrating. Looking at the flyer that comes with these figures, of all the new characters they turned out for this line that have never been in the full-size line. Tons of ninjas, at least one new Joe I don't recall (Tankblast!?) Some rather interesting Cobra Trooper specialties (although I wonder how many Cobra Troopers would admit to being "Spin 'n' Smash" specialists...), but I do think it's cool that they worked Joe Colton in. Still...

Did we ever get a list (with pics) of all these?

It would be neat to try and recreate some of these that were done for the Micro Force line that never made it to the 3-3/4 line.

Can somebody post a link or the flyer?

Can the heads of these figure be used for Mega Bloks Call of Duty custom figures i.e are they the correct scale?

I already started on it. :-P There are about seven or eight original characters, most of which are ninja characters. Right now I'm working on Tankblast, the lone GI Joe character introduced through the line.

I would say no. Based on the ones that I have -- Cobra Trooper and Steel Brigade Trooper -- and comparing them to the one Mega Bloks Call of Duty figure I have, I'd say the heads are a bit too big.

From what I understand most of these were at one time planned to be produced in the line.

If true, that makes it that much more frustrating...

Still could be him. The original Zap figure was clean-shaven. He picked up the mustache in the comic book first, and it just stayed with the character beyond that.

I like those that I bought, but instead of going cutesy mini figures, the Micro Force should've been a line of tabletop miniatures / army men for large scale battles.
