The SK Omega Hive playset (the half dome looking thing) was cool and all, but what always peaked my interest was the Owl transport helicopter for obvious reasons.

Well Guy Cassiday, of the former GI Joe vehicle designer variety, decided to show off his sketch of the Owl in the GI Joe Discussion group on Facebook along with how they envisioned it size wise. I'll let his words and picture do the rest. So, so, so many tears for what could have been.

So, is SK Omega going to happen?

I bumped a ton of SKO concept images in the Discussion Group on facebook and Mr. Cassaday nice enough to add to the pile with that amazing comparison sketch. I totally didn't see that coming. He's always got something up his sleeve.

SK Omega was too ambitious. I don't think the guys behind it knew what they were getting into.
Great ideas, but did they even get to the prototype phase?

They knew what they were getting into. They just have full-time jobs, don't live anywhere near each other, etc.
It isn't like Boss Fight who are able to meet weekly etc.

As for prototypes:

There's a picture of an SKO 2up in this thread:

Yeesh! Why don't you just start a thread about the "Tanks for the Memories" Maulers next? ;-)

I heard a rumor that the Owl transport chopper had a hook up that perfectly fit the Tanks for the Memories Mauler.

I actually didn't but I'm spreading it from here on out.

Too soon man, too soon.

SK Omega was a cool concept. But I think trying to launch a new action figure line without some kind of mass media tie-in was going to be extremely difficult. Some very cool items that I would have liked to get (mainly the vehicles) but they weren't meant to be.

Sorry to see this line didn't make it to fruition. Too bad though, coz I did hear that the Owl transport chopper had a hook up that perfectly fit the Tanks for the Memories Mauler. You can use it like the Cobra Sky Crane helos from the comics.
