So, I had little to no interest in these KRE-O Joes since they came out, until last week when I bought a few for my son. He loved them and his enthusiasm for them has now got me interested. So, I bought some from a few people on here, made a couple ebay purchases, found out about the codes on the packages and headed back to the store........lo and behold wave 3 had just arrived and were only $2.99 each along with a lot of leftover wave 2.......the vehicle sets are really cool and come with more figures.........so here I am within 1 week a couple hundred dollars deep in KRE-O Joes. It happens just that fast.

I have only 1 question.....no Dusty?

I will say this though, while the KRE-O design offers a little bit more pose-ability, LEGO figures stay together much better when younger kids are playing with them. Definite trade off there.

I want to know when wave 3 goes up online. I skipped the whole first wave and most of the playsets, but my kids are 5 and 3 and getting into legos.

Hasbro sucka-ed me again.

Because nobody likes him

I'm sure if you wait a wave or two, Dusty will be among the releases.

I wasn't going to get into these guys either, until Mutt & Junkyard were released. Then I had to get a bad guy for him, so I had to get Firefly. Now I see there's a Low Light with this wave, and Beach Head has been released already, so now I need Gung Ho, Leatherneck, Wet Suit and Cover Girl for my ultimate team...

Damnit.

You gonna shell out for the whole Terror Drome to get GH or just eBay it? *_* And I think Wet Suit is on the books, but the proto they showed looked kinda weak (repainted Battleship SCUBA guy). I'm a little surprised at some of the character choices (no Dusty or Shipwreck) or how they're sold (GH & Tomax boxed with the Terror Drome), but Hasbro knows they're getting my money, so I'm sure it doesn't matter. The Kre-O stuff has really hooked the kid in me. They're fun in a way that the 3 3/4" stuff isn't; you can't take the Kreons seriously. They're obviously toys and are always going to look "funny" (or exasperated, in Low Light's case).

A lot of Lego purists can't stand the Kreons. I didn't like the boxy shoulders on the TF & Battleship ones, either. And the whole figure is definitely less durable than a typical Lego minifig. But I kinda like the ball & socket shoulders on them. They're a little more poseable, and it sometimes helps them fit inside a vehicle, too.

The only ones that really bother me with the arms is the ones that are suppose to be bare armed or even like Quick Kick with no shirt. It really looks horrible then. For figures with short sleeves, it looks pretty good. It's not bad on figures with long sleeves either. I'm dreading Gung Ho. They really should have made a different set of arms for figures like that.

I don't mind the arms, but the head shape bugs me. They're too small (it's the tapering at the bottom, I think). It doesn't matter for any of them with helmets/hair, but any of the ones that are plain-headed (especially the ones with painted on masks/helmets instead, like Slice and Dice) look weird.

cyko.....you said it has hooked the kid in you.....I think me too. And it is also an activity to bond with my son, which is a huge bonus for me, especially since he is too young to participate in customizing. When I see 3-3/4 figures I see custom fodder and my mind starts racing about how to use it, KRE-O makes me think about being a kid.

Was just talking to RogueTiger about that, hoping the characters I want don't come with a big set. Can't get much bigger than the TerrorDrome... I'm sure someone will have him on eBay. I'm not in any hurry.
