Friend of mine just told me about this. It's from ZICA's Facebook Page:

I've been given the green light to officially spill the beans on the Captain Action project. The format is 3.75" scale done in the classic 80's Hasbro G.I. Joe style. Starting out the line will include Captain Action, Action Boy, Dr. Evil and the Silver Streak! The press release says "Kenner" style which is incorrect. The original plan was to go that route but I started to think the 80's G.I. Joe style would be a better choice. Work is just starting on the project but hopefully I'll have some prototype shots to share fairly soon.

8-O 8-O 8-O 8-O 8-O 8-O

Okay, how cool is THIS!??!

Here's the thing for me -- the original Captain Action was my first action figure. My parents BARELY allowed this, as they didn't want their son "playing with dolls", and the original G.I.Joe was, for reasons I never determined, out of the question. But they allowed Cap, a handful of costumes, and I also had Major Matt Mason as a kid.

So now, somebody's going to do CAPTAIN ACTION in the style of the REAL AMERICAN HERO!?

I -- MUST -- OWN -- THESE!

For some reason....this intrigues me. A part of me is already interested in owning one of these.

Odd considering my Micro figure love.

Brian Isaacs 9 points of articulation?

If that's the same as 80's G.I. Joe figures, yes. Possibly a little more

They can drop a ball joint in place of an O ring and it may not be much of a difference. Depending on how well they do it. I will be interested to see this but probably pass. Gotta see them first but I'm not a vintage collector anymore.

If they have:

1) versatile articulation in which joints like the elbow and hips aren't restrictive that allow the figures to easily interact with vehicles and strike a variety of poses, and have at least as much articulation as an 80s Joe,

2) an aesthetic quality, especially HEIGHT, as in, they should actually BE 3 3/4'' figures rather than 4'', that is somewhat in line with 80s Joes (especially the 85-89 joes,)

3) an ease of deconstruction for customs,

then I am all in, o-ring or no.

I know it's too much to ask considering they said 80's joe style but I'd really like to see them look like this.

That can be one of Captain Action's Desguises.

Great custom there, gijoey, but I'm hoping that there's a waist joint instead of that rather distracting mid-torso joint.

Nice custom indeed. I can see a lot of fans enjoying these figures if they look 80% as good as that custom .
