I picked up a Best Blocks branded Stargate miniset. It was called Super Soldier. Currently 79 cents at the Canadian tire.

Now I never watched the show, but a silver minifig for a book seemed like a good idea, so I went with it.

Interestingly enough it comes with a helmet and armor that are passably joe scaled. Not sure if the supersoldeirs are supposed to be human scaled or not, but the helmet fit right on the neckball with no modification, and the armor only needed a bit of modification to fit on a joe body.

Anyway, though this might be interesting to some of you, and for any others that want a cheap source of alien looking heads.

It's been noted before by Pluv - best block toys also come with some decent joe scale weapons as well. If you got one of the War machine's without a decent chain gun, the one from these packs works well with a little modification - the hole is already drilled and everything.

So it looks like this cheap lego knockoff might have some utility for joe customizers.

How well does it fit? Here's the result of the Blizzard(TM) (turn and hold upside down) test.

Nice. I wouldn't mind getting a few of those to do some updated Cobra-la Royal Guards. Has just the right insectoid look.

Nice! I'd not seen that piece before. But that helmet confirms to me that I was right to use a Frag Viper head on my custom of that character. It's a very similar look.

Neat. I've seen those on eBay, just not around here.
The figure represents an Anubis Super Soldier:

There was only the one at my Canadian tire, but there are many of theme in Canada. Sadly I could have had a dozen if I'd hae acted quicker, but I only picked them up today because I was super bored.

Based on Sputnik's suggestion though, I think this one is becoming a Frag viper.

If anybody has access to these, I would dig at least one helmet and armor. Or two :)
Any help appreciated.

I got a couple of the Jaffa Death glider sets and wasn't impressed. They're the quality that Lego fanatics say MegaBloks still are but ain't, but the real deal-killer is that they didn't think it important that the guy actually fit in the cockpit.

But I wouldn't say no to some of these Anubis helmets.

/Stargate and MicroNauts, the two most-obvious properties that need to be 18th scale.

The larger sets with the Death Gliders will fit a figure, albeit almost lying down.
They seem to be different models.
