Has anyone ever amassed a list of all the named characters that make up COBRA? I am looking to fill out COBRA as an organization by including South American, Funkool and European characters. I am not an avid comic reader but I assume the various comic releases have included some new ones too. Any help would be great! |

Interesting list...I never thought to consider Vapor and Decimator individual characters, but works for me since I cant afford to army build them! |

A case of people looking for characters where there aren't. "The Decimator's helmet...." So this guy calls himself "The Decimator" (reducing the enemy by 1/10th ![]() Vapors appeared in the Dic series. As in "more than one on screen at once". I know that contrasts with the character Vapor who appeared nowhere. Sure some will disagree, but if the file card says nothing about their personality or past, then odds are they are more of the nameless legions. |

I always used Desert Scorpion because that codename is too awesome for a bunch of unnamed trooper guys to share it. Later on I decided Air Devil, Sky Creeper, Decimator, and Vapor needed to be individual characters despite the filecards. Cobra has SO MANY freakin random trooper types most with 'Viper' suffixes, that more named specialists were necessary for sanity's sake. |

Troopers or Fill in The Blank-Vipers are standard troops. Desert Scorpions, Snow Serpents, and Eels (including Lampreys) are environment specific soldiers. Everybody else are individuals. |

Vapor and Decimator's filecards certainly make them sound like individuals. Given the liberties DIC took, I'm not inclined to take anything going on there a gospel. Decimator hasn't appeared anywhere other than the toys, so filecard is the only thing we have to go by, and it definitely paints him as an individual. |

It's been really interesting developing COBRA Command. There is allot of room for squad leaders and individual agents. My new outline for COBRA: COBRA Island (Carribean) 2 sizeable reasidential communities - Springfeild (Capital) - with Industrial section - Broca Beach (Tourist destination) 1 Military Facility - Fort Serpent (houses the regular COBRA Armed Forces) 2 Item of note: - Religious Compound -COBRA Temple - Church of the COIL - Extensive Enterprises Corporate HQ (Springfeild Offices) COBRA South - Brazilian Jungle - Fort Naja - Python Patrol Base of operations COBRA East - Tibetan Mountians - Fort La' - Base of Operations for COBRA -La and the Venom Troops under General Maximus as well as Dr. Venoms Labratories COBRA North - Arctic Ocean - Naval Base Snow Adder - Launching Point for the COBRA Navy and Arctic Forces. COBRA has several fronts, clandestine labs and safe houses in every corner of the world. They are funded by Extensive Enterprises, the Church of the COIL and COBRA's Intelligence Service. Most regions of the United States and Canada have a Crimsion Strike Teams which operate like a secret society until needed by COBRA Command. Terrordromes - Quick Deployment Command Centers which can be operational in as little as 48 hours. The Quetalcoatl - COBRA's Ariel Command Center (Ala Helicarrier) The Backwater - Dreadnoks Compound in the Everglades- utilized bu COBRA, owned by Zartan |

For me if the name sounds like it can be unique, it most likely will be. You advance in Cobra, through the Viper ranks, by earning a "name". Vapor, Decimator, Sea Slug, Sky Creeper, etc.. I use Desert Scorpion as a unique character. Eels, Snow Serpents are troopers. Lampreys, Cobra's equivalent of the Navy's Special Combatant Craft Crewmen, drive the Morays and Sea Rays. There are some unique named Cobras who were never Vipers: Firefly, Munitia, Black Out, etc.. Sky Creeper, for example, leads a squad of Para-Vipers. Sea Slug is a Lamprey squad leader. Vapor leads a squadron of Strato-Vipers, Decimator and Rip-It lead tank divisions, etc... |

In my world Vapor, Rip-it, Sky Creeper, original grey Interrogator, Armadilha, Asa Negra, Skull Buster, Fast Blast (Viper) & Blackstar are all single characters. Decimators, Desert Scorpions, the second blue/green Interrogators, Night Vultures, Air Devils, Sea Slugs, etc are troops. If you can find it issue 2 of Images G.I. Joe Battle Files has a fairly comprehensive command structure listed in it. |
