I was talking with Lance Sputnik and Kilcarr about which figures are bad, even as custom fodder. I said 25th Gung Ho. i hate the arms. The torso hasn't withstood the test of time. The legs aren't bad but at this point thee are so many better choices. Overall I think this is why I like the concept case Gung Ho so much. It shows how far the designers developed in producing this level of ultimate figures. Sputnik disagreed. He said Blowtorch because the range of motion on that figure is so horrible. Points of Limitation. So which figures have disappointed you, even as custom fodder? |

Though I don't own it, I'd have to give that nod to the box set Taurus. I mean, he has an amazing headsculpt, but the rest of him from the PoC Recondo neck, to the gigantic arms, to the weird placement of the chest holster just makes him blah. So much excitement for so little payout. |

Don't forget the legs that can't fully straighten out because of the thighs that aren't compatible with the knee (this was also a problem with the Cobra Air Trooper that was included with the Black Dragon). |

Right! I had forgotten about always slightly crouched or "Ready to charge" Taurus. ![]() |

25th Gung Ho does, indeed, blow. I hate the chest and arms, and I'm not a fan of the legs, either: their sculpt is soft even in comparison to the rest of the figures from those first couple of waves. Oh, and his skin is a sickly shade of green/grey, too. I've never used any parts from this figure for a custom, with one exception: I used the chest (from the comic-pack Storm Shadow, but the same mold) for a figure whose entire torso was covered by a vest; even knowing it would be completely covered from view, I still had mixed feelings about using it. If we weren't considering whether the figure was useful as custom fodder, I'd give my vote to 25th Leatherneck. He combines a horrible upper body, made exclusively from terrible parts, with a set of legs that aren't a good fit, either for the character or the overall look of the figure. He's got a diaper-crotch, he's wearing Buzzer's webgear, and he's got that crap Gung Ho head, which somehow looks even worse on Leatherneck. The only redeeming value is that I've used the waist from the green version on a couple of customs. This is another knock on the figure, though, since I've actually had to purchase this horror more than once. |

GH is horrible, so is leatherneck an Taurus, besides his head. Destro's 1st figure no matter what color was pretty bad too |

Roadblock v1 and v2 are both terrible too. The heads are small, the arms are strange, and the legs are weak. |

Maybe not the "worst" figure, but definitely the most disappointing for me was Serpentor. It was just so far from what it should have been in my opinion. |

Of those that I own, I have to give the nod to Blowtorch. Looks great, but the suit is too bulky for the articulation design. |

Gung Ho was the worst (and inflicted that horrible torso on us). First Cobra Commander was awful, too. Weird torso, spindly, bow-legs, perma-fist, and crazy small and misshapen head. |

Gung Ho and Torch, those arms are just Blowtorch's range of ARM motion and one leg longer than the other Copperhead/Roadblock/Cold Weather heavy weapons Viper, the arms and legs and that stupid opened up left hand Bazooka/Bench Press/Heavy Duty, good sized figure, but the ARM range of motion sucks Anything with Duke arms, slit wrists or not. Killed me that two of the Mission Brazil figures had these arms Crankcase/Shipwreck good figures, but the closed fist kinda limits them Baroness and Scarlett. I think these two were the first 25th figures, I like them over all, but their knees are just disturbing. TNT...seriously? Torpedo, again a good Sculpt, but over used for every stinkin' diver. |

I've started developing a keen dislike for Zanzibar. I didn't mind him at first but between the eyepatch being on the wrong side of the head, the scrawny upper body with the colossally bulky Iron Grenadier Destro legs and Taurus's webgear (which looks even worse on him because it's also way too big for him), I'm hard pressed to find anything to like about him. |
