Does Skidmark hold this title? Are there any worse than that?

Scatologically speaking, Skidmark probably has the edge. In terms of sheer loathsomeness, though, I've always had the opposite of a soft spot for Ice Cream Soldier and Colonel Courage. I seem to remember Ice Cream Soldier possibly being a reference to the Sgt. Rock comic (which had a character of the same name), but when you read the filecard, with its ice cream references uncomfortably wedged in, it's pretty awful. Colonel Courage sounds like something that would have appeared in a crappy TV show as a fake toyline. I hear that name and picture Webster's dad refusing to buy him the Colonel Courage Nuclear Submarine with launching warheads. Even the Remco American Defense figures had better names than those two, and that includes "Forest Green" and "Dr. Care."

sgartz, good points, "worst" can be interpreted multiple ways. Those names do suck. And nice use of scatologically. Maybe once every 6 months does an opportunity to use that word arise. well done.

Separately, Snow Job and Blowtorch are innocuous.

But together? Let the comedy commence.

Any name that needs the officer title to make it work is bad for me.

Altitude is a good name but then you have Major Altitude who is a different guy.
Colonel Courage is bad but just calling him Courage alone is worse.
Capt. Grid Iron sounds like NFL Super Pro's sidekick where Grid-Iron alone would have worked well enough.
Major Storm, Sgt. Slaughter, and Major Barrage could all benefit by dropping the title.

Gnawgahyde is pretty damn ridiculous too.

As far as GI JOE names go - Tiger Skystriker is complete "LASER BLAST". I mean - he is flying a Tiger Rattlor, looks like Thunder but should be Ace. Stupid. Then in 1998 he becomes "Thunderwing" driving a MOBAT, while Gung-Ho is now driving the Slugger. Garbage.

Ice Cream Soldier - never really understood that name's meaning.

Never had an issue with that until Hasbro recently renamed him Clyde "Gnaw" Hyde. Honestly his parents named him Clyde Hyde and they didn't expect him to become an unstable adult that provides nothing for society. He may be able to track wild animals or me for that matter and put a bullet in them from a mile away and single handedly wipe out multiple species but I would still laugh in his face if he ever introduced himself.

I've never had a problem with the codename Skidmark. The term came from tire marks on the street, which makes sense for a driver character.

I agree with AVE, that the rank code names were really bad.

sgartz's Ice Cream Soldier is equally bad and even with the Sgt. Rock reference still is a reach for a codename.

Double Blast irks me. It is isn't horrible, but it just makes no sense for the character, specialty or anything else. Maybe a Cobra bomber but not a Joe heavy weapons guy.
