Not sure if anyone has noticed this before, but last night, I was going through a bag of accessories and noticed that the radioactive MASS container (from the DVD SE) and Compound Z container (from POC CC) are actually molded in 2 pieces. You can remove the cap and a center cylinder is attached to it. I'm not sure why Hasbro needed to mold this item as 2 seperate pieces, so I wouldn't mind hearing what you guys have to say about it. |

I noticed this but mine didn't come apart easily. Now that I know yours were actually removable, I'll try a little harder. I don't know what I would do with it as a two-piece part that I wouldn't have as a solid-molded piece, but it suddenly got much cooler now that I know it's possible to open it! I'm guessing it's molded in two pieces to cut down on material costs...? It doesn't seem like much of a savings, especially considering it would have to be assembled as well, but that's the only reason I can think of; it certainly wouldn't be impossible to mold as a single piece from an engineering standpoint. |

I just figured it was like that as a play feature. A container is always more fun if it can be opened. Also, if they chose to make the outer half clear, you could see the inside half. The original one is partially clear orange iirc. It just loses that effect since you can't easily see in and the inner part is the same. It would have been nice if the compound z one had a clear outer half. Then paint the ends matching colors and it would look like a cool container of something. |
