I have a few figures that have become discolored. They haven't been in the sun at all. But I've been storing them in the $1 plastic shoe bins. I wonder if the yellowing because the bins are not acid free in the same way that old comics used to before acid free paper. I wonder if it would be enough to wash out the the bins real quick with soap and water before using.

This happens - and very little other than storing them in a perfect lightless vacuum is going to make much of a difference. The box didn't help, but even white figures that I have kept in the storage plastics in dark closets (thus not enjoying them at all) have signs of yellowing.

I haven't been able to test this myself, but it's one of the things that I have wanted to do for a while. I've read many endorsements to the effect that this is the way to go.

I think that humidity can cause yellowing as well.
