Gary, in your experience, and with that history in mind, how often do the figures from canceled waves show up in later waves after some kind of reorganization (like for example, the SW Build-a-droid line mostly being transferred to the Black series)?
And does cancelling mean that production never started? Or is it all case by case?
Thinking also of the Iron Man 2 unmasked 3-pack that was cancelled, but then years later the figures start to show up on ebay, etc...
Basically wondering if any of these specific figures might survive in some form or another.
Well with ROC some of it came down to actor likeness. But yeah I'd call it case by case to an extent. I think the GJCC being deputized it seems to scrape the scrapped scraps off the scrap heap whether in full (Nano-BAT, Tan Grunt, Iron Klaw, Desert Scorpion, IG's, Python Televiper) or in bits (Jinx- CS Scarlett or Big Bear-Arctic Duke/Alpine)..... that is definitely making it easier for canceled things to find new footing. But Blindmaster and Jinx being actor bits I dunno if the Club would (can?) tread there?! But maybe with new heads?? As for Night-Viper it has already been canceled once and I don't think that would have trouble finding a home. I mean part of me thinks we will see these figures. But pretending the track record isn't there..... is silly. I mean nova the vintage purist concurs. And that's because the track record extends so far into the past and all the way through every incarnation of the brand. So it isn't pessimism as much as tradition. Now it has been suggested NV was held back for the last wave because troop builders can help sell a wave. I suppose that is possible.
