Zica Toys is bringing the bionic hero of the 70's in a line of retro style 3.75" figures.
By retro, I mean figures with 7 PoA.

They have big plans for the line even playsets, I hope it'll be successful.

If these were modern styled figures or even RAH figures I would be interested but I don't see the appeal in stuff like this.

Interesting that this should come up now. I've been watching Six Million Dollar Man repeats on COZI TV and remembered how I would pretend to run in slow motion and make the Bionic Sound when I hit something.

Yeah, I can't see those setting the world on fire enough to bring play sets and vehicles. They're far overestimating the numbers of both SMDM and vintage-style collectors, imho. How many more characters are there to do beyond Oscar and Jaime, assuming she's even included in the license?

Hope the playsets are great because 7 points sucks. Makes the figure kinda worthless in my book. Someone in marketing research should get fired for that idea.

"The figures on the shelf have two many poses possible, kids hate it. If we could just make a figure that doesnt move as much we should be able to blow those other figures out of the water with these MORE FUN figures that don't bend all over the place" "oooh even better we will base them off of a television series that most people under 30 (hate to say it but 40 is probably more realistic) know nothing about"

im all over that bigfoot and like the retro look, it looks alot like my vintage bigfoot figure and i might love the playsets. that said i was never really a bionic man fan and not sure i have an interest in a guy in a red jump suit.

I bought the Bif Bang Pow! Mego-style 2pack (same setup as these) because I'm a total whore for anything Six Million Dollar Man, but while the goofy-ass Andre-as-Bigfoot was kinda fun, in a stupid way, the Steve Austin fig looked nothing like Lee Majors, so now I have pangs of regret.

I'll likely get these - just to display with my other "retro" figs. And because I'm a total whore for anything Six Million Dollar Man. But I've already got customs of these two that I'm happy with, so the fact that they're not modern doesn't bother me. This is a show that's been off the air for 35 years, so the retro treatment makes total sense.

I could see these doing decent in toy shops & hobby stores. Now the play sets could sell to everybody if they are done right.

Yes the bigfoot looks nice. As for the Austin figure, heck guys we're always looking/asking for civilian figures and here one is, if you want just use him as a background figure.

Sadly, Hasbro and Mattel seem to agree with you...

They are only worth it if they are "retro" priced.
I don't mind them as some people will collect these. However I would have definitely bought some if they had modern articulation. It's too bad they won't do both.

I would love if they could do some others.

If you are talking about the totally lame Retaliation vehicle drivers---then that hopefully is not true. I read an interview about the 2013 movie line with one of the designers and he said that they learned their lesson about those figures with limited articulation and would not be making that mistake again.

Hasbro already knows that GI Joe collectors buy the retro versions of these lines to compliment their Joe collection so maybe Hasbro should be trying to get licenses on these expired lines (surely could not cost too much) and make them GI Joe subteams. After finishing a MASK (which they already have a license for) sub team. And dont forget about M.A.S.H and Knight Rider.
