One of my biggest complaints on the new sculpt bodies is they reuse so much of it. The web gear, vests, etc. I mean back when we first got Skystriker, the Sky Patrol , etc; it was nice to see new characters made using the old molds. But now nearly every third figure reuses a part from a previous mold. Yeah, I'm slowly getting into the new sculpts but this still irks me some.
Oh and don't get me started on the new vehicle drivers, heck this is probably the place I'd be least worried about mold reuse.

They're not the big selling, #1 boy's toy phenomenon they were 28 years ago. Corners have to be cut somewhere.

Every toy line does it to one degree or another. Doesn't really bother me.

Despite the reuse, I'm finding the design of some of these base pieces to be very versatile for customizing. Dollar General Cobra Trooper is a prime example of common parts that can be used in a multitude of customs. Too bad they are $15 or more on ebay and that is the only place I can find them.

Repaints of figure molds and accessories has been a staple of the brand since 82. Both Snake Eyes and Steeler came with an uzi. Stalker and later Duke both came with the same rifle. By the end the Battle Corps figures came with weapons trees filled with weapons we'd seen before.

I think there is enough of a library of weapons at this point that they can re-use whatever parts make sense for that character.

The heavy reuse of of parts and gear is one of the biggest things that turned me away from the 25th line. It's not as bad now in the modern line, but during 25th is was at times inexcusable.

Except for Scarlett, each of the Original O13 used parts from each other in some way, shape, or form, and only two of the males had unique heads.
Reusing body parts and accessories never bothered me much, except when the part doesn't fit quite right, like web gear that restricts movement or thick upper legs with skinny narrow legs or something like that, but really that doesn't happen too often.
I only really get bothered by it with the head sculpts, I know it'd be a bit of a pain and maybe add a bit to the figure's cost, but I think each character should get their own head sculpt. I don't know if Hasbro was trying to show tribute or uphold tradition, or just being cheap, but the three of the O13 from the 25th line used the same head. I remember someone here even pointed out that Grand Slam has never had his own unique head sculpt.

Rock and Roll, Steeler, and Clutch had their own torsos also.

I am actually cool with body parts being reused. More than cool with it, I prefer it. As long as each individual character gets it's own head, is appropriately colored, and has its own gear when called for, I am down. I just don't see that happening often enough in the modern line.

Yeah, weapons don't really bug me, it's the web gear and vest stuff that identifies the character like Kick Start having the Viper vest w/the Cobra Emblem still on the belt or the Night Fighting Duke having the same vest as Airborne & Air Raid.

Actually if you count the Cobras there were 4 original heads remember the Officer had the V ridge on the front of his helmet.

Yes, the head sculpt bit bothers me also. Whose head did the the JvC/Spy Troop/VvV Grandslam share?

If you're referring to v3, the DTC figure, if I remember correctly I think he shared the whole mold with Bazooka from the same era

Yeah, the headsculpt thing is a bit of a bother... but as long as they have at least distinctive hair colors I guess I'm okay with it.

The big problem lately is that while the reused bucks are a lot better than they were in the 25th anniversary... They still need to apply restraint with certain parts, IMO.
Like POC Jungle Duke's webgear, which has been reused thrice already in the Retaliation line alone.

I have no problem with parts being reused- although Grand Slam needs an original head sculpt (that was my rant). If anything, it would work better if Hasbro would keep older parts in use longer. If the parts are painted properly and combined in ingenious ways, a sense of originality is kept. Master Collector has really up its game over the last few years. Look at what they've done with recycle bodies and gear- with a few new heads mixed in.

I don't mind at all.
Some of the latest sculpts like V54 Snake Eyes' torso and arms are awesome and I don't mind seeing them done in various colors. things have greatly evolve in the recent years and the line is great.
Of course in the days of slit Duke wrists, things were different.

As for the gear, it can easily be changed, so no problem there.

Like you guys, I'd prefer unique head sculpts for each characters.

doesn't bother me in the least, I expect it and it's a-ok with me. and I reuse parts when I customize so I can't fuss about the toy company doing it.
