I'm at a bit of a sticking point and can't really decide which way to go.

I have what was at one time a Complete CATII and a Consumer's Distributing Tank in super rough condition.

Image

The previous owner went through and swapped all of the broken parts (Turret, tow hook, motor and running gears) from the CDT, and replaced them with Parts from the CAT II.

The end product Looks Great (aside from an over application of Stickers) but I know it's not original... I already have a nice Original CDT and CATII so I don't plan to keep either... but I'm undecided what I should do.

Remove the excess stickers, but keep the "Refurbishment" as is?

Undo the "Refurbishment" and Restore the Original parts?

Anybody have thoughts?

If it is to resell, restore it. Most buyers won't want a refurbished item. They want the original item with original parts.

Semi-off-topic, but...finally! One of the prop-rental houses we frequent for work has had one of those all-black MOBATs sitting around, gathering dust and never getting rented, for as long as I've been going there (at least seven years at this point). I've been trying to figure out what it was for years: the black gun ring and cannon hadn't been painted, and it seemed unlikely that it was a mixture of C.A.T. and C.A.T. II parts. I had somehow never seen the CDT, so this thread just answered a question that's been bugging me for a long time. Thanks!

How much is it to rent. And what is the cost if it gets "lost" in production?

If I had the money I'd be interested in them if you were up to selling them. They look great the way they are.
