If anyone else is struggling with the same issue I went ahead and ordered some from Joe Heaven. I am not excited about these because I think I had some before and while they work fine (if they are the ones I am thinking of) the head is not a match for the originals, which I would prefer. I think these are a smaller philips head then the oritinal.

There was a seller on Ebay that had ones that looked exactly like the original pointy tips but they wanted 40 cents a screw, which is a little high for my blood.

But in my research I discovered a post that spoke of using the screws out of cassette tapes. And it was right they are perfect, a tid shorter then the original torso screws but still long enough to do the job and the head is a dead on match.

So thrift stores with piles and piles of old worthless cassettes here I come. 4 screws per tape so I should be able to get them from between 3 cents and 12 cents a screw depending on the thrift shop.

You man know this already, but just in case, there are screws that seem to be the same size but have different threads, actually cut new thread lines in the figures, which personally bothers me.

That is the beautiful thing about the cassette tape screws, they are absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the majority of cassette tapes do not have screws and of the ones that do have them the majority of them are black. I still like the black ones better then the ones from Joeheaven but to be right they really need to be silver. It has been several years since I had the ones like Joeheaven sells but if memory serves they were slightly longer then preferred and my bigest pet peeve was that they had the little bitty phillips slots.

Have not decided, I may start collecting the black ones for future emergency need, and also to put in customs so I can save the silver screws for regular figures.

Every thrift store has cases and cases of nonsense cassettes that no one wants.
