So all the talk of 'ultimate' versions and the unproduced vault figures, which 25th figures do we consider 'never happened' because they were just that crappy?

I'd say Buzzer, easy, Serpentor too. Dr Mindbender had a crappy go too. If they release that unP Hit N Run and Destro, you could take those off my list as well.

Luckily for Cobra Commander, he's got a fix coming soon.

What other 25A figures can you not stand now, in light of what Hasbro is capable of today?

Still no really decent Scarletts, IMO.

And I would like an "ultimate" Duke that looks like Duke from Marvel #24. The 25A version with the diaper crotch and "LASER BLAST" wrists fell way too short.

I would also like the entire OG13 re-done. The bodies they used for the 25A figs (and even subsequent re-releases with the new legs) were sucky. - They've got the SEv54 sweater torso now - update them "LASER BLAST".

Hell- if they could re-do the entire '82-'86 line with the same quality as the 30A Lifeline, Sci-Fi, & Airtight, I could die happy.

As much as it pains me, Rock 'n' Roll doesn't stand up as well now as he did when he first came out. The pea head and those "LASER BLAST" Duke arms really don't look good. The Vault version shown at Joecon really shows how I'd like to see my favorite character in the new 25th construction format.

Leatherneck and Gung Ho are two of the worst. Hoping the unreleased ones can see the light of day to improve those.

I also hate the Ripcord from the seven pack. Just absolutely hate that figure. With how awesome the original is, that figure needs a better update.

Honestly? Honestly? All but maybe 5 or 6 of the 25A figures are dead to me. There are parts from some I'll still use (though more and more often those parts are becoming the internal hardware, donated to Trigate torsos). But as far as being a great representation of the character itself?

Well, I'm ok with Tomax/Xamot, but that's because they have unique sculpts and I've never been their biggest fan. I'm ok with the original Crimson Guard figure. Surprisingly ok with the original Cobra Trooper and Officer (later incarnations are better sculpt, but also better fodder).

I'm ok with each of the Lady Jaye figures, though the later one was best. I actually prefer the Baroness from the second 5-pack, so she's good. 25A Blowtorch I'm ok with (but was he technically 25 A since he came in the Resolute wave?)

And off the top of my head, that's about it. I'm a much bigger fan of the modern era as it began with ROC - though I respect the 25th Anniversary for what it was, and for enticing me back into Joe-dom.

Among the worst for me are 25A Duke, Roadblock and Steeler.

I agree with doc bindy.
very few 25th figures have ever been that great to me, really just about every modern figure I purchase gets customized in some way, but the 25th parts are all so mispositioned they don't even work that great for fodder compared to the more modern figures.

The 25th O13, some were good like SE, Stalker and Zap, but any of them cursed with "Duke Arms" need to be redone, if anything, some of them could just use an update. I noticed the R&R from the vault resembles R&R from Resolute. Quite honestly his best incarnation, tho v2 comes pretty darn close. For what PoC did for Duke, it could be done for the O13. Using the Resolute Scarlett with a better head could work.

Blowtorch could really use an update just to make him poseable. I was messing around with him the other day and the lack of being able to hold his flame thrower across his torso really sucks.

I noticed on some of the silver face mask and hooded Cobra Commanders, there seems to be notches at their shoulders, so their arms flay out strangely or are down out the sides unnaturally. And the closed fist is kind of cool, and is ok with him, but annoying on Shipwreck and Crankcase.

The other thing is the split torso, mid torso was annoying for the first few waves, most noticeable on Bazooka with his jersey, it was somewhat corrected by the Roc and PoC lines by lowering where the split was on some figures.

Someone once brought up that it's be nice if Grans Slam actually got his own unique head for once, and I agree with this, I still think every character should get their own head sculpt. Gung Ho, Leatherneck and Cutter all sporting the same head? Yeah, not so much. Same with the diver heads.

I've discovered something lately that is both cool and annoying at the same time and that is jackets. PoC Snow Job's jacket keeps him from holding his rifle across his torso. I noticed on the Club's Iceberg he just has a torso coloured to look like his jacket, this may make easier for him to hold his rifle. Removable gear has it's pros and cons over the molded on stuff.

Almost all of them, I think it'd be better to ask which ones are okay, ;)

GungHo was crap from the GetGo.

Gung Ho was bad. Roadblock was bad too but the movie versions so awesome I'd rather they focus on other characters. Rock Roll would be nice. If they do Breaker again, give him a beard. Dial Tone, the club one wasn't good. The set one was alright but the homage one was bad.

I do agree with Chief, v1 Scarlett is probably the one that hasn't stood the test of time that well. I'd love an ultimate version of her.

But I'd like all that while mixing in more new characters and some old viper types. :D

While my experience with the early 25A figures is very limited, I was never impressed with the look of Shipwreck. Maybe he stands out to me because he was always a favorite character of mine.

You know, you're probably right about that...
