| I'm in the process of updating my GIJOE figures and vehicles by year. I may update this with new questions. Question for 4/10/13 -What does the STUN stand for? I can't find any reference online. I thought that given the way Hasbro named things, that all capitols letters meant it was an acronym for something. | |

| I don't think it stands for anything. The name of the vehicle was just the Cobra Stun. Just like the Cobra Hydro-Sled or Cobra night Raven. | |

While there is a reference on the lower left hand part of the back of the box that uses "S.T.U.N." as if it were initials, there is no other reference that I have found in any cannon or resource as to what this might mean. The blueprints do not make reference to what the letters mean (which is generally the best place to look) and the reference at the top right of the back of the box seems to be the one from the HISS tank, identifying it as a high speed sentry. Mind you the cobra B.U.G.G. doesn't have a definition, and it's obviously an acronym for something.. It is also of note that it references ground and sea vipers on the Motor Viper file card, niether of which exist. So with a lack of information and references to non-cannon troopers on the filecard, I rule the STUN out of continuity, and we shall never speak of the "Sentry Trike Utility Neutralizer" again. - R

Bathyspheric Underwater/Ground Guardian or Big Ugly Green Grotesqueness Quote: It is also of note that it references ground and sea vipers on the Motor Viper file card, niether of which exist. ... Yet. They will. I'm suprised they don't already. Cobra is totally lacking in an entry level sea trooper. It makes little sense that all their boat operators would have to be qualified Navy SEAL-types and then some. Ground Viper would seem to be redundant to basic "Cobra Viper", but when has that stopped Hasbro? Cobra has at least 4 different anti-tank troopers, not including named characters. Air-Viper didn't exist for the longest time. Now they do...but still don't have a mold that's original.

I use these Laser Viper as my primary Cobra Navy Troops. These are Navy Assault Troops Viper v6, and possibly Viper v8 are boat operators. I gotta find my notes again.

| Serpentors Tenet Ubique Nieve. All hail Serpentor! okay....likely not. The STUN has a very chariot-like feel to me, and since Serpentor was on the scene this year, as well as the castle-like Terrordrome. (Hydro sled feels like a 1985 design to me, like it should go with the Ferret.) Night Raven represents imperial supremacy, kind of a Cobra Emperor vibe, but less old Roman army like the chariot-like STUN, or actual Air Chariot does. | |
