These are the NECA 3 3/4" figures. I finally saw these at Toys R Us yesterday and decided to pick one of them up. I got Marcus Fenix. He looked like the best one out of the bunch and I'll admit I'm not that big of a fan of the game. I just liked the look of the figures and like the game well enough to get me to check these out.

He's a decently sculpted figure. He works ok if you want him for display. As an action figure though, they left out the swivel arms. You really take it for granted when most figures have the swivel arms and can hold a weapon. When it's taken away you really notice it. It's such a downer on a figure and makes you just really not have a use for it unless you can pose him some other way... or customize him.

He does have elbow joints and ball joined hands. The shoulders are ball jointed as well. His head is on what looks like a 2 point rod and allows a fair amount of movement. He also has a ball jointed torso. His hips have a swing out joint while also having a t-crotch. Sort of like the larger NECA figures, or DC figures. He has knee joints but they hardly move due to all the bulk. There's also a hole on the back and a peg on the weapon so you can store in while not placed in his hands.

I will probably end up adding a swivel arm joint. It's really needing it and I don't understand why they didn't add it. They seemed to have it in mind that articulation was important, but failed at this level. I don't know if I'll get any others though. They are $8.99 and having to add that articulation in makes me feel I shouldn't pay any more than $4.99. Maybe they will clearance...

These look pretty awful. Like if I decided to sculpt something, and somehow was brave enough to post it on the internet, it would probably end up looking something like this.

....I imagine it gets annoying listening to its constant screams of "w..w..what...am..I?" and "Kill me!"

Glad I'm not a Gears of War fan.

A shame that these are what NECA put out, their upcoming 3 3/4inch Lone ranger stuff looks good. I hope they try again with a bit more thought for articulation points for figures of this size if they try another videogame line.
