Anyone out there buying this line? With the lull in retail Joes I've started eyeing up some of the figures, and I think they look pretty sweet. Are they about 6 inches tall? How well do they hold weapons? How's the articulation? Any good sites to go to for reviews/pictures?

The Reach line currently out is noticeably larger than the previous figs. The old Spartans were essentially 18th scale since them guys are supposed to be genengineered to be about 7ft tall so they look appropriate next to Joes; but the Reach figs are too out of scale for working with Joes and too undersized to work with any 6" line, imho. The aliens are all fine as they can be fudged to be any size one cares for them to be, except that they don't seem to be putting out as many Reach aliens as they did previously. Forget about using the vehicles with Joes, tho.

yep if the new Reach figures had been in scale w/ what they'd already put out, I so would've went for it, esp. an in-scale Warthog.

I got a few of them and the Warthog, but I haven't gone too crazy with it. I had bought more of the previous line than the new scale ones. I pretty much just pick a figure or 2 and leave it at that with these new ones.

Got a Warthog and a Ghost, since they work just fine with the Halo 3 5" figs, but the only figure I bought from this line was Jorge - before I discovered they were a different scale than my dozens of other Halo figs. So I quit right there.

The Reach figures are more solid than the H3 figures, and they sport more articulation. As unique as the wrist articulation is though, the Spartans need to have the trigger finger separated from the other fingers to hold certain weapons properly. If you decide to collect the line, you shouldn't have much trouble locating all of Noble team between Walmart, Target, and Gamestop.

I decided to grab them because of how much I love Halo. And because I love trying to adapt to more figures for photography.

I've picked up a number of Spartans from the HALO REACH line and have been most impressed. A few of the structural problems that existed with previous Halo figures -- overly fragile wrists and a weird leg articulation design, have been remedied with the HALO REACH figures. They feel sturdier somehow, and are as well-sculpted and detailed as ever. You do have to check the paint jobs a bit, as I have encountered occasional mild sloppiness, but nothing too serious. They're well-made, well-articulated, and I've enjoyed adding a number of them to my overall collection, and from what I saw at McFarlane's extensive display at the Phoenix ComiCon late last month, there's plenty more on the way!

The other nice factor is availability. Most retailers with decent toy departments, including Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, and some GameStops, have a ready supply of single figures, two-packs, and other items. I also tend to feel that, for their size, the individual figures are very reasonably priced, generally under $12.00 in most places.

Thanks for all the information, gents. Out of the stuff that's come out from the Halo: Reach line are there any standout figures? I'll probably pick up a few to display at work for now, and if I like them maybe I'll pick up a few more. That stinks that they're not 6 inch scale, though.

If you are looking for stand outs. I'd say Jorge (big MF'r with a Gatling gun). And probably Emile.

My favorite character is Jun, but he's just cool :P

Ugh, Jun? It's like you never even played the game. j/k

The reach guys are well done, the H3 guys work better with joes.

Jun... Oh how I "LASER BLAST" hate Jun!
Jorge is the man. Listen to his Firefight voice when you play, dude says some disturbing things.

I have the team from the game, but I can't afford much else. Got most of them for Christmas or birthday. Girlfriend got me the Ghost, too. The Ghost is sweet. Kat is the most unique figure, I think, but Jorge is my favorite. Emile would have been cooler if he had a working sheath for that knife, or...even if he could actually hold the darn thing.
