Aside from the one that comes with Renegades Tunnel Rat, anyone know of a 1/18th scale bomb disposal robot? My Google searches have come up empty. I suppose I could make one easily enough, but if a neat one already exists, why not use it.

The one that came with Tunnel Rat is a pretty close resemblance to the Grizzly-1. I don't think there is anything else out there.

I think you're right husker85. I'm finding nothing. But I think there is a small backhoe out there somewhere that wants to be taken apart and remade into a bomb disposal robot. (well, technically its called an excavator)

I've never heard a bomb disposal robot called an excavator.

I used to have a Hot Wheels sized backhoe made Ertl that had a fully articulated boom that could work. I wonder if you could tear apart the Pac-Rat trio and come up with something.

This is what I meant.

The parentheses refered back to the original object or something. I'm a science guy, the rules of language mystify me.

With a few slight modifications, I think these Legends class Transformers ROTF toys might work for you (as they did on some of my WIPs):

Parts of Devastator can look like mini-bots while in their vehicle forms, placed side by side with joes.

And both Scavenger and Hightower, could even work as mini-bots in both their forms:

Be very interested to see what you come up with. You have given me an idea.

That crane looks very promising as a base, Mainframe. Thanks.

I recall seeing a few 1/18 bomb disposal robots on eBay a while back. I usually search other 1/18 scale model items and have found some interesting stuff over the years. Lots of garage items and tools are made in this scale, although some of it is a bit on the pricey side.
