I know Duke isn't always a beloved character but as I am one of those guys who likes having 400+ operatives on the Joe team, I need all the squad leaders I can get.

As such, I was looking at my Original Duke (the first New Sculpt five pack) and he looks so dated! I am looking for a better version!

I already use the POC Jungle Duke as Mirage and I use the POC desert Duke as Dodger...

Any suggestions?

As far as I'm concerned, the definitive Duke is the original, 1983-84 version. None have ever surpassed this.

Right now Renegades Duke is my default. He retains enough elements from the classic designs, color scheme, headsculpt, etc, that he still looks like Duke to me, but with an updated flair. I just need to give him an actual holster and ditch the laser gun. As a side note, the PoC Duke head is my default Hawk head.

Resolute Duke might be a good version to work a custom off of.

I think he meant something in the modern era style.

And the 83 Duke is damn easy to surpass, what with that goofy grin.

I too, really like the Renegades Duke figure, although since I've set up my Renegades figures separate from everything else, I ended up making my own custom Duke.

Yes I did mean Modern Figures sorry for the confusion...

The V 44 and 45 head really has me sold! The blue eyes give that sculpt allot of character. I'll be looking to pick up the Renegades 4 pack to get the v 45 and possibly swap some different body armor on him.

btw does anyone else see Hi-Tech in the resolute arctic duke?

Duke v1 is the definitive Duke for me, in my collection.

I like Resolute best, followed by Renegades.

I'm a huge fan of the PoC Aliens style Duke. Even without all the crazy gear, the figure is super well done and a good blend of sci fi and realistic elements.

Resolute Duke (single card) is about the best there is. There's a RoC version where he's dressed like Airborne, only all in black. He is awesome, tho I call him Ghost, he's a CIA Agent.
Despite the goofy grin, v1 Duke is my o-ring Duke. Hard to beat him.
