I wonder if it was just mostly a money issue or what. Seems like they could still have gone to Kickstarter to accumulate whatever funds they might still need.

Given that The Hero Project didn't come close to their goal I don't think Kickstarter would have helped SKOmega either. Funding a full action figure line isn't something for Kickstarter to do, its for the people behind the project to go to a bank or get a couple big financial backers. Crowd-funding a few grand for a comic book is one thing. Trying to raise the hundreds of thousands of dollars it would take to start a full figure line is another entirely.

Yeah I guess it just got too ambitious. It's still considered on hoots I guess? But yeah dead in the water sounds like the case. I don't know, I just have tons of ideas running in my mind on how a project like this can happen. It would just require so much. I don't know their details, but I can see a snowball effect taking things down fast.

I think they wanted to produce to much to quick, that would've definitely killed it, either that or they couldn't get a factory overseas to produce them for what they wanted :-/

I don't think there has ever been an official confirmation of the status of this line in a long time, but it certainly doesn't look good that this line will ever be produced. I really hate that we likely won't ever get that Cobra comic-style transport helicopter, which is one of the few vehicles left that I want to see in plastic form.

It's been a long time, but I remember something about name trademarks/copyrights etc had them stuck. I wish I know where I found that info, but this project has been quiet for a long time.

This is a shame. I was looking forward to seeing even one figure in at least a WIP stage. The drawings looked cool. But that doesn't always translate into a cool figure.

Kickstarter might have helped since many Joe collectors, O-ring enthusiasts in particular, were interested in the SK Omega project.
They probably would have got more support than the Hero Project based on the initial response when the paper mock-ups were shown at Joe Con.

Like it was said, they probably bit on way more than they could chew.
Several vehicles, figures and a huge playset are a pretty big order for new company. They could've tried to fill a void with a first vehicle that's missing from the Joe line and gradually build their own line from there.

I was really hoping to see this toy line succeed...even see one figure or one vehicle. And who knows, maybe someday we will. Maybe there's a prototype of the Owl copter sitting on someone's workbench.
If I had won the lottery I would have funded their entire project, of course the company name would have had to change to JogunWarrior Int.

Anyone tried getting a hold of Ron Rundat?
I know he is accessible through linkedIn.
He might know more about if it is completely gone or just side lined.

Curious to know why Hasbro wouldn't be interested in a home made brand.

They already have one, GI Joe.
