I don't like your choice of a replacement. Replace him with Dasaffe and I'm game.

what if I changed it to "replace Dixon on GI Joe titles (preferably with someone like Mike Costa)"?

I'm being completely facetious due to 99.9% of polls/votes/wedding vows that have anything to do with Joecustoms always have a Dasaffe option. The man is a legend.

I myself haven't read a comic in 15+ years, so I'm not really qualified to vote. But, if the current writer isn't producing quality stories, then I wish you luck with your petition.

Woops. :)

Thanks, man.

There are 4 joe comics out now:

ARAH by Hama
GI JOE by Dixon
Snake Eyes by Dixon
COBRA by Costa

and the Dixon titles are just.... bad. Which is strange because he is a good writer. He just doesn't seem to get the right feel for the stories.

Cobra by Costa, on the other hand, is the best Joe book I have ever read. The characters, even ones who only appear in a few moments, are unique and exciting. There are tons of twists and great plot pacing. He also really GETS what makes these characters tick. He has reintroduced a lot of the sillier characters from the 80s and made them totally bad ass while still keeping the heart of their original version.

I hate seeing the comics flounder when they should be the center of Joe fandom.

I don't read a GI Joe comic mainly unless its written by Hama. I TRIED the other series and they just didn't have the GI Joe fill that Hama's comics do. :(

did you try Cobra? If not, try it. It's worlds above the current GI Joe comic.

And I like it much better than what Hama is writing at the moment :/

I changed the petition so it isn't asking to replace Dixon with Costa exclusively but uses Costa and Mike Raicht as suggestions of the type of writer who would be better.

http://www.change.org/petitions/idw-pub ... joe-titles

"Chuck Dixon is a great writer but not suited for the G.I. Joe comics. He is alienating fans with his poor pacing and lack of character development. Mike Costa, writer of Cobra Ongoing, on the other hand, is beloved by fans and truly embraces the core elements of what makes the title appealing. Mike Raicht, who wrote the Infestation crossovers, is another writer who understands how to write GI Joe. Either of these - or someone with a similar style - would be a great replacement. Instead of riding a dead horse into the ground, IDW needs to listen to their readers."

At this point, their universe is so sideways I don't think changing a main writer can save it. Call me when they do a reboot again, this time with Jerwa at the helm.

I'm sorry... but Jerwa makes Dixon look like frickin' Shakespeare.

I'm still shocked at how much love Costa gets. I thought all his Joe work was pretty bad, and the less said about his Transformers work the better.

Personally, I enjoy Dixon's G.I.Joe... it's his Snake Eyes book I'd prefer cancelled.

I would agree Jerwa's work makes Dixon's look likes something besides G.I.Joe but i wouldn't pick Shakespeare. No Joe writer is perfect, and we can all disagree due to style and taste etc. It's probably a good idea to remember Hasbro has often had a negative hand (story wise) in the Joe comics, and it's hard to know where that influence is. As for Jerwa, he penned Master and Apprentice, Snake-Eyes Declassified, and his original frontline story which imo were some of the best Joe stories ever. He started the Stall story, introduced an acceptable amount of new characters(including Wraith), but focused on growth of the ones we knew, and fixed some past messes like Storm shadow's allegiance, the fate of the Arashakagne clan, and dealt with the green shirts. I think people give him a bad rap over Lady Jay and the red shadows without realizing that story was truncated by Blaylock. Blaylock is 2nd to the bottom on my list of Joe writers, and I think he held Jerwa back.

I like Chuck Dixon's writing.
I also agree on the Costa love,
and the Jerwa love.
