Found this in another forum I visit:
It's a Nixon era secret service uniform. Look carefully at the jacket- that thing IS the CG jacket, only in white. I always wondered if it was inspired from a real dress uniform...and now we know.

the secret service had dress uniforms? its hard to be secret wearing that. i am a huge fan of the doublebreasted and bib front uniform and band jackets, but thats because i still dream of being in a new romantic band in 1980. |

I'm guessing the designer had seen it before or had it in a book of military uniforms they drew inspiration from. |
