Picked these up from BBTS and being the vehicle/dio whore that I am I got 2 of the Drop Pod and 3 of the Cryotube. Word of warning though, the Drop Pod comes in a HUGE box. They could have easily packed it with the front cover on and the figure on the side but they chose to display the pod in its open position with the cover and figure spread out on the side, thus doubling the size of the packaging. So if you order this online (like I did) be prepared for higher than usual shipping costs and a big ass cardboard box coming your way.

Anyway, on with the "review". I took photos of these two alongside a POC Cobra Viper for scale. I didn't shoot the Halo figures because if you're a Halo collector you know what you're getting with the figures. Master Chief is a new sculpt but is about the same quality as the Reach figures. The ODST is the Universe mold with new swivel biceps so he can turn his arms and hold his rifle.

The Cryotube is really big but considering it is scaled for the Halo Reach figures it feels about right. The sculpting and paint is well done. Not a lot of detail but enough to make this look like a real world piece.

As you can see, the Cryotube is giant next to the POC Viper. I can see it making for a great industrial dio piece or in Mindbender's lab.

The inside of the Cryotube is spacious but not overly so for the Reach size figures. But throw in a 4" Joe and he's got a LOT of room. With a little work you could make the 4" figure fit well.

Overall, this is a great dio piece but might be a bit more than folks will want to spend for a dio piece. For me, as a Halo collector I'm glad to have a few of these. The Master Chief figure makes for a good generic Spartan and the Cryotube will look good in a Halo display.

Thanks for the pics! Can we get one of the Master Chief next to the Viper?

The Halo Universe ODST Drop Pod is A-MAZ-ING! Its about the size of a football and has a lot of detail.

As you can see, next to a 4" Joe, this thing is gigantic.

The chute is deployable with a telescoping support and articulated, hinged flaps. The flaps are a soft rubbery plastic but with some boiling they can be brought to the right shape. And the chute adds a few inches to the height of this piece.

The front "hatch" is removable and the side doors slide out and flip open revealing the spacious interior. There is a seat with two handgrips/controls, what look like a couple weapon racks on either side and some leg and head room.

A 4" Joe can sit in the seat and reach the handgrips just fine but his feet will be dangling like a toddler on a bar stool. Still looks pretty good though.

This thing is awesome. I wish the price was more reasonable so I could get a couple more but the 2 I have will be enough for what I want to do. It works well enough for 4" figures and will work great with the Halo ODST figure.

They might be big, but man do they look cool.

Very true. I agree I wish they were in the low 30's, 20's would be even better.

Agreed on the price of the Drop Pods. I think they are running more than the Warthogs which to me is a bit insane but whatever, costs increase, blah blah blah. But they are the size of a football and have a lot of nice detailing. A couple more on clearance and I might not be able to pass them up. But for retail they are a bit steep.

The Cryotubes though are a bit more reasonable. $22-25 I think and totally worth it.

Though it's a bit git, I can see the logic of a drop pod being that size for a 4" figure with the life support system and all.
